The Jimmy John's Franchise, LLC is a chain of fast-food restaurants owned by Inspire Brands, Inc. A company based in Champaign, Illinois, founded in 1983 by Jimmy John Liautaud. Despite its rapid growth over the past 35 years, there are still only a few locations in Alaska, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont.
Ninety-eight per cent of the franchised locations will be owned by 2020. The founder of Jimmy John wants to open an office in Toronto in the future as well. Jimmy John Liautaud was given the option of joining the military or starting a business after graduating second to last in his class at Elgin Academy (1982).
