I have a prepaid Turbo Tax card through Green Dot and this has been the worst banking experience I have ever had. I had a deposit to my account and then my account was immediately blocked for review. I had to call customer service over 10 times in a span of 5 days just to receive any type of information on my account. Every time I call they would say it was being reviewed and the hold will come off the nest day , and it never did!!! I was then told to send in a picture of my ID to verify my identity, I have sent this over 4 times and my account is still blocked. I feel like I was robbed except by a major corporation. There are thousands of stories and people having the same issue with this bank and it is ridiculous. They have my funds and wont allow me to access MY money and cant tell me when it will be released. This is the worst banking experience ever and worst customer service as well. GREEN DOT , I JUST WANT MY MONEY. UNLOCK MY ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disputed charges on my green dot card for merchandise that I did not receive. I first tried reaching out to Wish and was unsuccessful. Green dot informed me that they are not responsible for the items not received. The item was purchased with my funds, so in that aspect they are responsible.

GREENDOT created a bogus car rental charge 3 months ago. The reduced my balance by $201. They refused to restore the amount stating it was a pending charge that had to expire in its own after 2 months when it would be dropped.
After the months of waiting, they dropped the bogus charge but failed to restore the $201. Following several complaints by me on their failure to restore my money, GREENDOT tried to state the amount was refunded on June 15th. When I stated that restoration had never appeared or been reflected in my printed account statements up to this present time; they claimed that the restored $201 only shows on their account screens and doesn't show up in my balance statements at all. This, they are stealing my $201. After attempts to push my complaints up to supervisors; they use stall tactics and have even began hanging up.

I’ve never found it necessary to “post” an issue before, but someone needs to stop these thieves! Wal-Mart should be embarrassed to be associated with these idiots. I’ve used Green Dot exclusively, to pay our ..monthly lease. About 5 or 6 months into their “bill pay” system, they seem to have lost $2800 - funds were deducted, but never received by our landlord. I’ve been making inquiries for better than two months and get the same “run around” and no results. Every call to their (off shore) customer service number results in the same B.S. promises & apologies - and no results. $2800 has been taken!! Going to the State Attorney Generals Office, Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and a little extra threw the “Small Claims Court” in California. After all my attempts to get closure, I take it that they won’t, can’t or refuse to follow through with providing answers!

This is a ONE STAR rating that should be a negative 5!!

I have a greendot debit card, I have sent you several letters and you call me leaving me a message to call a certain number and the number you leave, you can never get a human being, why do you waste you time calling me. I do not down load apps on my phone as you have been told over and over. all I want is my 25.00 and you can have your card. YOU NEVER can get a human being no matter what number you call, how sad is this. what a poor company in regards to customer service. how many times do I have to write to you????? no wonder your reviews are so horrible. just give me my 25.00, you know there are some of us that do NOT down load on our phones, just give me a live person to talk to!!!!! what a disgusting way to treat a customer. if I cannot talk to a human, just send me a 25.00 refund and take your card and do whatever you want to.

The person that i spoke with did not want to stay on and help me to the best of her ability. She would not let me speak to someone in charge so that i may receive the help that i needed. If only she would have stayed on she would have seen that the problem was handled. She was very rude to me !!`

I have filed a dispute with greendot 3 times about someone stealing my wallet out my purse and my card and pin number was both in my purse.I told them someone took 2500.00 off my card and they told me that my dispute was denied.I also asked to speak to a supervisor and they told me it was nothing a supervisor could do for me.And that the supervisors told them that when someone call to tell them that they didnt wanna talk.And i just wanted to let yall know that i am very upset and not satisifed at all.And when i asked for customer complaint hotline they told me there wasnt one.So i need the CEO over greendot to give me a call asap. I went to use my card today and it had a balance of $100 last I used it but today it's tell me they closed my account without me knowing it. I can't get my money and can't get anybody on the phone either! Will NEVER use Greendot again.

$101 was taken off my card by Redbox for DVDs that I did not authorize watch or have anything to do with I contacted green. And told them I wanted to dispute this I told them that I didn't make these charges and within two days they came back and said my dispute was denied I contacted them the day I was notified on email which is the same day my card was used that I didn't make these authorizations and they still didn't stop the transaction knowing that it hadn't gone through yet! This is from straight bullshit when I call you in the Chargers not even gone through yet and you don't stop it I dispute it it hasn't gone through and you don't stop it you don't put a hold on it you don't do anything but take it out of my account had I not been notified by my email I wouldn't even know myself the money been taken but all funds I get emailed so I knew. I will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General's office I feel my Hundred $1 should have been put back on my card immediately but instead chose to do nothing.

A friend of mine gave me a $20 gift card. I stupidly gave my personal info to open this card. Not until the end it says we will charge U $7.50 a month. I did all that for $12. 50 ridiculous. I can see maybe a $1 for such a small amount. I want this card cancel will never use it again.

on 04/30/2019 i purchased a greendot card at the dollar general store located on East Washington St Indianapolis Indiana 46241. i have attempted 8 time to register online and three time by phone niether will let me register my card and i call coroperate office and was told that they will not assist me with activating my card forwhich has 150.00 dollars of my money .

I am being scammed out of my disablity check. Someone at your customer service center in Pasadena Ca, has sabotaged my acct. I can not get my money off my card, they have my online acct. locked, they refuse to talk to me about my account, because I don't remember my old phone number. They lock up my online acct so I could not go online a get my old phone number. I tried to update my phone number and new address, and thought that they updated it but they didn't . They told me my card was reported lost or stolen, I didn't report that. I suspect someone in customer service did it because they have been do rude, and have given me the wrong information many times about my card. I have had this card for many years, now all of a sudden, I am have trouble getting my money off of my card for the last three months. They told me to email them a bunch of documents, and I did that, but when I called to see if they received it, they refuse to talk to me about it. I have no way of knowing if they even received what I sent them . This is unacceptable, it's fraud. Where is my money? Does Green Dot expect to take and keep my disablity check? I think Social Sercurity needs to know what is going on with Green Dot so they can stop excepting this card for direct deposits . Why can't anyone from The Corporate office be contacted my phone? This company has $5086 of my money, which was deposited onto a prepaid visa card back in July of 2018. So we're talking almosr a year now. They told me they blocked my account because of suspictious activity after a deposit of more then $3,000.00 was deposited to my account. That deposit was from the IRS, my tax refund for 2018. They wont unblock my card unless i give them proof of my id which i cannot obtain in my state at the momemt so i gave them other forms of identidication. I have given them my birth certificate, social security card amd all my tax documwnts to include when the deposit was scheduled to go into my account. They refuse to unlock. I am furious and need MY MONEY!!!

I called the green dot office number and informed the operator that I was not receiving any WiFi she checked my account informed me that it was paid up and that the problem must be a technical one I was told a tech would contact me two hours later no call no service I called again same procedure three hours after that I called again to be told the same bullshit no one has contacted me and I'm still without a service that I've already paid for .what should be my reaction now after receiving this insultive treatment .don't i even have the right to an explanation? i bought a prepaid debit card that plainley stated load & ready 2 use, its going on 2 weeks ive not been able 2 use this card. i have bills 2 pay. this is a joke when it tells u load & ready 2 use & when u open the card u have all this bull 2 go threw that u tried 2 avoild 2 start with. i either want my money back or the card 2 work. this has cost me with my bills & i also noticed they sure got their money for a service i have not used. i put $500 on card # 4143-9800-6555-3763 i uploaded my ID now i want my money it is not their money. they took there money off the card.

Green dot for no reason froze my husband's account we travel for work and they froze all our money we couldn't pay hotel.eat,or get gas. We have never been treated so TERRIBLE as we were by green dot. We called them NOONE TRIED TO HELP FROM GREEN DOT!!! we stressed to them our situation sent all the verification information they needed and they still didn't fix the problem!! We will NEVER recommend green dot or use their services AGAIN!!!

I called customer service and asked them nicely to deactivate my account and move my funds to an available account and they said they could not so I am not able to touch my money and this is a big problem I tried asking for corporate number and they gave the wrong number plus I tried googling their number and I find nothing but a mailing address what am I supppse to do with that this what ever I want to call it should be shut down

I have been very embarrassed and belittled by you guys green Dot corporation. I had ordered me another card and when I received it it was saying insert chip my card ain't got no chip so that was the first thing so I called them on Mon. 2:30 n told them they identified all my info then after that they said try it in 1 hr. I did still didn't work I called back again they said try it in a hr. Something was not working on there end do I did now it's gertting later right ok at the last time they said after 2 hrs try it got sent to technical support she insistent that there was nothing wrong with the card this was already 4 hrs and 5 banks later still unable to get cash the next day I called. They said I had the wrong info they couldn't talk to me after talking to me all day Mon Tues morning they could t talk ya I was upset m rude probably but bitch didn't have to hang up on me after I told her I wanted to talk to her supervisor. Still today we'd card still not working n I'll call them in 2 hours. This is bull shit they don't have no problem collecting my money n charging me after these 8 yrs of being a costumor a good one I get my disability check on my green Dot I will change that though after this and cancel all cards from you guys. Poor service n also what the hell are the security questions for right.. we'll you email crap n phone number.ber thing u need to figure something else out. There's people that don't keep the same number or email. Or simply don't remember it. So what are the options on that when not remembered by your customer poor vommunication. My experience with a customer service on 04/01/2019 was that of very poor service, This my second time experiencing such with the Green Dot Visa card. I use this card for Dr. appointments and my phone bill gas and my local market. I loaded my card this month of 100.00 dollars this month for such needs. While I was able to pay my phone bill by phone I was denied making a transaction at my local store. When I called Green Dot I was informed that for second time my permanent Green Dot card had been returned to your company. I live in shared housing, so while that is possible I asked after identifying my self could the permanent card be sent to my p.o. box the request was denied and I still was unable to make a purchase. i asked to speak to a supervisor and was told someone would get back to me four hours later from the philippines I loaded the card in good faith, it is my money, and I want access to it.[ Veerry Disapointed]. Greendot never sent me a card, they canceled my in-store card and I got direct deposit of my payroll in which I don't have access to nor can even get ahold of greendot they hang up on me, had to buy another greendot card just to do that, I just want my money I worked for!

When I call customer service for my disability they're playing games with me on the phone they telling me that my money is lost and they need the documents that I have sent two them over 50 i don't know if she gave me her right bass number or not Hazel 75109 she stated that she was a supervisor but she was not willing to help me she just kept saying Your Case has been closed how can you close my case for my disability and wait for someone to call me and I've been waiting all month foot someone to call and has no one called me about my money

I left m house today to go buy a car I go to wegmans near my house to try and pull off all the money I needed for the car after 800 I get declined I go to another store try again get no where called the customer service department in regards to this the lady on the phone informed me that I could not pull anymore off at the atm in the amount of 400 due to daily limit she then tells me that I can go to any bank and pull the money off we hang up I go to 4 different banks I think it was and got declined I call the number again tell the rep whats going on she says it is because I need to use a pin at the teller I talked to the tell at last bank and couple others and they say there is no way to enter the pin number at the counter Iby the time I found a store to do the green dot card I had to load 20 on it only to call and activate it and the recorded line to miss spell my name and when I said no it was not correct it skipped it then I was transferred to a rep and the rep then told me that because of that I would not be able to get a personel card and that it was active and that because the system mistake I could not load the amount I needed on the card so I hung up and found another way to get my money I get back to Syracuse and try to use the green dot card at a store to buy some thing and it got declined one of the reps I talked to heard my name and birth day and transferred me to another green dot 800 number and I got hung up on ive had way to meany bad exsperinces with your customer reps I spent over 3 hours hunting a card down the rep said I could use and transfer waisted a lot of gas and time the drive alone is over a hour this exsperince has made me mad as hell and to the point of being stressed out this is my money my card my account I should be able to pull money off any time I want and should not be lied to or transferred now im out 20 dollars on one card tell I can find a place that it don't get declined and on top of it lost a lot of time for stuff I needed to get done on top of that I went to dollar general in fulton and went to buy a green dot card pulled one off the rack only to be told that after the guy tried 4 to 5 cards that they where supposed to be pulled off the shelf I have been miss led by reps and cashiers all day and out the amount of gas it took to drive to all theys stores and banks and back to the same some of the same ones and the guy I bought the car from had to leave work to come due the sale cause by the time I finally solved the issue my self he had to be at work so another inconvince yet again im to the point where I will not be use in this card again next tax season or when I have to do direct deposit I also had to buy a ton of drinks to finally get the rest of the money I should be reinburst the 20 fromm the other card plus the charge fees for the purches I had to make and should be give in credit for gas do to being miss informed horrible horrible exsperince trust me after today id give a 0 star rate in if I could

Firstly, I am only providing a single star because it was preselected and I cannot rate any lower than that. I had my entire tax refund deposited onto the Turbo tax prepaid card, which is powered by Green Dot Bank. As of February 25, 2019, I have not been able to use my card due to a block being placed on my account without notification to me or approval from me. I have called the number provided on the back of the card along with other numbers every day since then and have been getting the runaround regarding my lack of access to my funds. The responses that I have received thus far range from my account being permanently closed to my my account being under review. If my account has been closed, what happens to my money!? It is quite apparent that the representatives and the corporate office staff are not in the same book, let alone on the same page. I've been told numerous times that someone from corporate will call me in two days and I have never received any call from corporate. Does the corporate office have phones and do they know how to use them? I have filed a complaint not only with the Turbotax Prepaid card customer care, but with the FDIC, the CFPB, the CFT and the NYS Attorney General's office. I honestly do not know how they can get away with this!!! I have three children and a household to maintain. Three utilities have been shut off due to this huge inconvenience. Someone has to do something. My next step is to seek legal advice.

I called and rep told me he read acc info I got apporoved I will receive 1 business day I received a letter later that day saying in was denied why does automated system say approved and rep said I was but letter says otherwise an still haven't got my money, I need to talk to someone

I have unable to activate my account
Acct. # 4143970116211131. I've been put through the hoops submitted my documents was told it was to blurry. I have been subjected to watching short views of cars, traffic lights and the list goes on and on. The whole experience has been a nightmare.
I would like to be reimbursed for the money invested in this project.

My Green Dot card was stolen in 2016
$1,877.80 was stolen out of my account!
I immediately reported it to Green Dot and was advised by phone and via letter that they recognized the problem and saw the fradulent activities by the culprit!
The letter stated my money had been credited to my account but that too was deceiptful by Green Dot!
Now when I call i am asked for my card number!
I have explained time and time again the culprit has it! Or had it!
I have no way of getting that information to you or I would have three years ago!

I am inclosing a copy of the letter to got three years ago!

I purchases a card at a local store so that I could use it to do some transactions that I did not want on my bank account. also I was having difficulty with getting gas due to the pump having difficulty reading my card that has a chip on it. I attempted to register it and had a difficulty getting an account opened. then I found out that they/greendot had made a charge on my for more than $7 and today, 12/14/18 if found out that they had made another charge on my card for an additional $4+ dollars. the purchase of the card was $20 and to activate the card was $1.95 in addition at the store. I have not gotten anything for my purchase and I would like a refund for the product I bought, because they did not do as advertised and made it very difficult to open the account and be able to get into the "said" account. they are cheating customers out of funds that have been trusted to them.

My account has been blocked..they asked for identification. When I try to submit it it states it's been submitted which has not. I try to go to my account and it says problem wit app...but yet it works on every body else account..I called and I was told to go to green Dot / documents upload there I was told that page does not exist anymore..so I'm going in circles....I can't use my account but they're still taking the monthly fees.

My card is blocked for no reason at all. I have submitted my ID many times just to get it rejected. My only source of income comes to that card and all my bills are getting past due. I lost my card on a Friday, and I called my card in stolen but at the time I had 2 acct and they customer service rep did not tell me I could have transfer my money but she put a clock on my acct. They advised me it would take 3 business days so my card came on a wed but I still could not use my card because they put a bock on it. I live pay check to paycheck I have grandkids and kids to feed all my money is on my card I have to get food and gas etc I have no money at all not even a 1.00. My children are hungry, then I have been calling they are telling me to email my id to several different emails I emailed my id 50 times. I uploaded my id so much the computer will not take it anymore. My complaint is that I've tried several times to call customer service and they don't answer I tried filing a complaint as I requested on the computer and it doesn't let me go through at all I've been trying 4 weeks now to get ahold of somebody with no avail so I am demanding a refund $50 plus the cost of the card $5.95 in total $55.95 you company needs to be more responsible I keep being a customer satisfied this was a gift card that was given to me for my birthday what a shame I can I use it I left all the information as a requested they never contact me back on my computer saying what the outcome is it I'm going to give you my phone number and I really expect a phone call back so I will need to take other measures and that Consumer Affairs and news reports so you need to hear from you soon my name is Rose Torres my phone number is 909 781 55188 and please correct your customer service online and on your website horrible horrible horrible service will never recommend your card

I purchased a prepaid card at Walgreens. They printed a receipt stating to wait 15 min before registering the card. I waited 30 min and attempted. When I enter the card info at greendot's site. It says "Invalid Card". I tried to contact them and you cannot talk to a human unless you have a valid card number or your Social Security Number (which is not affiliated with this card). So, there is no way to contact them. I called my local Better Business Bureau and they gave me a link to file a complaint with them and a link to the company profile. The company profile had a number that leads you back to the computer that asks for a valid card number or ssn. I tried all kinds of ways to get through (human resources, sales, customer support) and can't get in without a valid card. I called the Walgreens where I purchased and the said that they've had problems with them and that I should contact their customer support and to give it 24 hours to process (the receipt that they provided said 15 min). Anyway, I'm going to wait 24 hours and call back Walgreens. This is really bad since I needed to use the prepaid card for my 10 year old daughter's 3 day field trip with her school. Terrible!

My account has been temporarily blocked from use, and I am not sure why. I was speaking to customer service on the phone last night to let them know i am switching accounts and was told I could not do so.

Paypal is terrible and Green Dot corporate executives even harder. I will post everyday about their rotten support until they resolve my matter! Is everybody happy with their experience at GD? I am certainly not. Why the hell does Green Dot customer service not have a legit number to speak with a human on their customer service line. Everything is routed to automated support.

I was interested in a Green Dot card, so I contacted their customer service line to check out what deals they had to offer. It was a real pain getting someone halfways intelligent to speak with me on the phone. And it turns out that the deals on the website are only avaiable to a very few amount of customers who qualify for the special debit card. The more I searched, the more Green Dot complaints and negative reviews I found.

Prepaid credit cards is something I would definitely recommend to all. Shop online, pay bills, no overdraft fees. This is what Green Dot has to offer and I love their services. The terms and conditions are simple and clear to understand unlike other bank cards. The customer service also have been helpful and courteous to make me understand how to clear payments and keep a good record. Thanks Green Dot for giving me a good rating.
