El Chico is a restaurant that serves mostly a huge variety of Tex-Mex dishes. It is located on the Southern side of the United States. In 1940 at Oak Lawn, in Dallas, its first restaurant was established. This restaurant is responsible for introducing sopapilla a kind of fried pastry to Tex-Mex and American cuisine. The origin of the restaurant was Adeladia “Mama”. It was Cuellar’s famous homemade tamales in 1926 at a fair. Today it is the subsidiary of Consolidated Restaurant Operations (CRO).
