Brookshire was established by Wood T and Louise Brookshire in 1928 and they opened their first store on Tyler’s downtown square. Brookshire was a fragment of Brookshire Brothers chain but it split in 1939. In 1940 company expanded and 1953 it opened its first warehouse in Tyler. BGC currently runs around 180 stores locations in three states under the name of Brookshire’s Food Stores, Super 1 Foods Stores, Spring Market, and FRESH by Brookshire’s. The company is also operating three distributions based in Tyler, TX, and Monore.
