A chain of stores based in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, Bi-Mart is an employee-owned enterprise with locations in these three states. Bi-Mart will close its 56 remaining pharmacies located in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho and will use the space to expand its retail services. Rich Truett, president and chief executive officer of Bi-Mart, said that eliminating pharmacies was a difficult but essential decision for the retailer. Bi-Mart stores, like Costco and Sam's Club, are membership-only establishments. However, unlike those chains, Bi-members-only Mart's policy was established as a workaround to fair trade laws established in the United States in the 1930s, such as the Miller-Tydings Act and those relating to suggested retail prices. Bi-Mart stores are located in communities throughout the world.
