The United States Ben Franklin is a retail company that predominantly operates in tiny communities, currently owned by Promotions Unlimited out of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. It was established as Butler Brothers and Ben Franklin in 1927, but it went bankrupt in the mid-'90s. However, there are still Ben Franklin stores to visit! As a distributor for individual franchisees, Promotions Unlimited obtained the chain's name in 1997 and has continued to do so ever since. First American Library Company, Philadelphia's Union Fire Company, the American Philosophical Society, and Pennsylvania Hospital were all founded by Benjamin Franklin.
