The Grange Mutual Casualty Company is an American insurance company based in Columbus, Ohio. A network of about 3,600 independent agents offers home, auto, life, and business insurance to policyholders through the company. Since 1935, the company has operated in thirteen states.
Under the General Code of Ohio, Grange Mutual Casualty Company was formed on March 25, 1935, and, as such, took over Town and Village Insurance Services' book of business. As a mutual company, it primarily wrote property and casualty policies for policyholders. Initial sales were limited to Ohio State Grange members, so Grange Mutual was originally an assessment company. Grange members began to receive hospitalization coverage in 1942.
