Oviedo LA Fitness in Florida, on Saturdays at 10:00 has all racquetball courts filled with 4 players (NO masks) and benches outside watching with about 14-20 people seated side-by-side with no masks. I want this gym to stay open, but if there is an outbreak of COVID - it will be because you are not policing your own establishments.

I see many people not?wearing masks at the LA Fitness at the rogers park area in chicago. It is concerning. Someone needs to call and make managers more involved. Rhey are not.

With this pandemic, LA fitness closed their facilities. They paused payment. I received an email about a 3month free guest pass once gyms open back up. When I went in months later, one of the employees told me that email wasn't eligible because it was either we continue to pay for the gym (while they were closed), then we would be allowed to bring a guest in for 3 months for free. The original email didn't state that. I then paid $16 for my guest to use the gym that day. Then, I realized that the managers at my particular gym weren't as helpful when I had questions, so I wanted to cancel. They told me that I had to mail out a form and that they couldn't do it in person. So I mailed the form. A month passed and I was still being charged. I called another location in Los Angeles and THAT operational manager said that she could cancel me over the phone AND she would refund me for the previous month. She was the ONLY helpful person in the last couple months. And if it was so easy in Los Angeles, then why couldn't the branches in Miami be as helpful? It is not consistent and that is why I cancelled my membership.

I was charged $40 for the annual fee and a $14.99 for pro-rated monthly fee on 7/6/2020. These charges caused me to have overdraft fees at my bank totaling $67.00. When I joined LA Fitness in March 2020 I specifically stated over and over to NOT draft payments before the 21st day of the month because this would cause overdraft fees. It is not my fault the pandemic caused closings and now that the gym has opened you want to draft fees on the WRONG day! When I contacted the local gym the manager Connor said let me look into this and I will call back. I have not heard a word a letter or an email from him. I called the corporate customer service number spoke with Brian or Bryan not sure how the name is spelled to cancel and he was horrible! He disconnected the call while I was still talking! I never thought LA FItness would be that rude! No empathy, no discussion on how to reimburse the overdraft fees, NOTHING! All he could say was its noted in the account for the local manager to call me. I told him I had not received a response from the local office and I wanted something done now! He just confirmed my email address and said again wait for a call. I told him if the local office calls me I would start cussing and put that in my account also. I want my overdraft fees of $67.00 reimbursed, I do not want any additional membership fees drafted, and I want my membership cancel now! Phn # 267 270 6409

Having a respiratory condition as well as sinus condition cannot breathe with a mask while working out. I presented a valid doctors excuse and was told it was not acceptable by area manager Shawnee(LA Fitness Menifee. Also I was taken advantage of regarding physical training, after paying for all sessions I was told since I didn't use them up in the allotted time I had to continue to pay even though it was caused by your trainers failing to show up Sterling the first one missed more than he showed finally let go according to Dax who made a deal with my wife to put a couple of extra times on the back knowing full well you were going to try and bill for all of them. The next trainer was Austin showed up for 1 missed a few more and quit. Then Bjay took over did well only missed a couple over a few months had child issues I understand that still friends with him. So it was not my fault the sessions were not used it was yours I shouldn't have to pay for what I already paid for.

I am a member of LA Fitness in Arizona. Recently I went into the club on Gilbert Rd and 202 in Gilbert Arizona. The club has a sign indicating face masks are to be worn but while I was working out over 9 people around me had no masks and they approximately 3 feet away from working out. I brought it to the managers attention and his answer is "we do the best" While I was talking with him two young people walked in both not wearing masks nd he never addressed them. This not only unsafe in todays issues but currently against Maricopa County directives issued by the county.

I got tricked into getting a personal trainer. I already had back problems. I ended up getting surgery on my spine. They wouldn't give me my money back. I was told that they would help with the problem but it made it way worse. They tried to get my son to use the training but they signed me up not him.

I have been charged fully for my membership and personal training when their call center won’t respond back and no one is answering the call. The automatic voice mail system keeps stating that all billing fees are waived due to covid 19 vut i have two charges on my account. I would like to file a comment on La Fitness for being the worst at their service and job

There is a serious virus going around the world. I know you're aware of it. However the cleaning of your gems are horrific to watch. You use the vacuum cleaners on the floor and on top of all the equipment that handles Etc. You move dirty water on the floor with a mop head that is never changed your just moving germ from tile to tile. You don't use any disinfectant when you're wiping down the equipment you use one Rag and it goes from equipment to equipment to equipment. It is appalling. This is even before the Corona virus. Not only that the gym on Alicia Parkway in Mission Viejo is a dump. Half the TVs work half of them don't. Half the Equipment Works half the pads are ripped. I guess you get what you pay for

I belong to la fitness in Michigan and I asked them if they could put a sign on the front door stating do to coronavirus if they could have people wipe there machine before and after there done. he just said there are signs and they cant force people.i go to the one on hall rd and romeo plank .if I don't see any changes I will contact our health department. he was nasty he was to busy on his phone or computer. I was there a hour and a half and there was 14 people who did not wipe down anything it is for the safety of the members and staff they are all young kids working there. its nice they wipe the machines sometimes staff but they use the same dirty water and rags on each mahcine.
and also I will contact my news station and have them come out and look at that la fitness thank you

I have been a member at your Trumbull location for a number of years. I enjoy using your workout room that has the heavy bags for boxing. On Saturdays their is a Yoga class in that room that is suppose to run from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The Yoga instructor continually runs the class from 20 to 30 mins pass the end time of 12:00. I work on Saturdays and need to get my workout in and get out by 12:30 in order to get to work. I have spoken to the operations manager of the club, Orlando. He agrees that the instructor needs to end the class on time, 12:00. The manger Orlando spoke to an employee named Jacqueline and told her if the instructor is not out on Saturdays by 12:00 to speak to the Yoga instructor and tell him to wrap it up, which she did. The Yoga instructor refused to end the class and leave the room. I had to leave the gym to get to work without getting my workout in. Something needs to be done about this instructor, is not fair to other members that want to use the room. If I could change my time of working out I would. I cant do my workout before the Yoga class because there are other classes that run before his. I can wait an extra 30 mins for him to finish because I have to go to work

I joined LAFitness in June and left my prior gym because of the large selection of classes your gym offered day and night. I belong to the signature club in Lombard Il. Since I've been there they have gotten rid of 75% of the classes. For a working person like myself that leaves me with out classes because most are in the morning needless to say I am very upset. I would've stayed at my other gym if I known i would pay more but eventually receive less. As I see it the club is in breech of contract because I am not getting what I was promised with my membership. This needs to be rectified and I know others I have spoken to are upset too. Also the steam room is not working all the time and locker rooms are not up to par. Something needs to be done please so I and others can receive the services are high cost membership is costing us and were told it covered.

Good morning,

I would like to express a complain about how a situation at the Brick, NJ location was handled.

First, I am a 44-year-old female who has been working out on a regular basis at various chain gyms since January 1999. I have also worked in the fitness industry for over a decade, several years of which, as a Master Trainer at New York Sports Clubs in Northern NJ. I was also a registered yoga teacher and taught yoga for 8 years at various yoga studios and gyms in Northern, NJ. My husband also worked in the fitness industry for about 15 years, and for 13 of those, owned his own fitness facility. Needless to say, I am well aware of proper "gym etiquette" and behavior.

I was working out yesterday, 7/17/19 at peak evening hours. I came upon 2 young men in their early 20s who were using two benches as "tables" for their light dumbbells. They had 3 sets of weights topping off at 15lbs for lateral deltoid raises. No other benches were free, so I asked one of the men if they were using the bench, which he replied "yes." I then asked if he was "using it" or using it as a "table." He then said "yes, he was using it as a table," and then there was a pause, as if he had no intention to move the weights to allow me to use the bench. Taken back by his response (which I have never received when asking someone to use a bench they were using as a "table"), I told him to place the weights on the floor. He became angry and called me a "bitch." His friend then cleared of his bench and let me use his. I then turned to the man who called me a bitch and stated this has nothing to do with being a jerk, it has to do with you being courteous to other members.

This incident did not "sit well" with me so I walked up to the front desk and explained that two men were using the benches as tables and the young man at the desk agreed that that was not appropriate when others are waiting. He summoned a nearby male trainer, who walked to the back of the gym with me and I told him about the incident. Apparently, the trainer knew the two young men, as they appeared friendly. The young man who called me a bitch became angry again (obviously that I told the trainer and he came over) and called me a “bitch” again in front of the trainer. The trainer took the young man aside, talked him for a few minutes, and then left. Nothing more was said to me.

A few minutes later, I sat down with both the GM, Mike and this trainer and explained how and why I believed this situation was handled incorrectly.

First, all I wanted was "someone who worked at LA Fitness" to explain to these young men that using benches for their weights only is not appropriate gym etiquette during peak hours or why someone is waiting to use a bench. This did not happen.

Second, under no circumstance should anyone be called a derogatory name simply because they were simply requesting or demanding gym etiquette and to use equipment that I and every other member that pays dues has the right to use. (dumbbells do not pay dues, people due).

Third, the young man called me a bitch in front of the trainer and loud enough for many others to hear, and the trainer said nothing. By saying nothing when one member calls another member a derogatory name in front of a trainer and other members, it gives the impression to myself and others nearby that his behavior is acceptable. I explained to both Mike and the trainer that something should have been said immediately, even something along the lines as, "that language is inappropriate." It made me, not to mention it likely made others, feel uncomfortable to hear that language and then have the appearance of complacency. This is the wrong message to send.

I then proceed to explain to both Mike and the trainer that women, in general, have to deal with a lot inside gyms, whether it is sexual harassment, getting asked out or "hit on," starring/gawking, and then being treated like our workouts do not matter. Women lifting weights are doing so in a mostly male environment, and therefore, have to endure unwanted and negative attention and interactions that men do not.

What bothered me the most was that Mike, the GM told me that the trainer handled the situation appropriately and according the LA Fitness policy. I can assure you, if this were at NYSC or my husband's gym, calling someone a "bitch" in front of staff would result in an immediate removal and revocation of membership. In fact, a comparable situation happened at NYSC, were a male called another female a derogatory name in front of staff and he was immediately removed from the building. When I told my husband about this incident, he agreed that he should have immediately been removed.

I believe that this sends the appropriate message to not only the female member that was affected but sends the message to ALL members that hyper-masculine, misogynistic, and discriminatory behavior against women is tolerated.

Bottom line is this, women have to deal with "a lot" in gyms just to get into or stay in good physical shape and health. We women NEED to know that your gym staff are there for us and will better protect us from this misogynistic behavior. What I am requesting is that you review LA Fitness policy on how such situations should be handled, so that women do not feel uncomfortable or intimidated, but instead feel safe in your gyms. I understand you cannot control other’s behavior, but you can control how your staff and management reacts to it.

I signed up for a 1 year personal trainer at LA Fitness in Sarasota in February 2018 at your Bee Ridge location. I am still being charged and was told by someone at the fitness center that I was supposed to provide a 30 day notice to cancel, even though I only signed up for 1 year, and in May 2019 I checked with the front desk personnel and was informed that the personal trainer fee had been stopped. The representative I spoke with still claimed that I did not provide the 30 day notice, and it would only take effect for August 2019. By my account, I am owed $825.60 and possibly approximately another $276.19 if I am charged for July month ( which he told me would happen).

I asked for a copy of my contract, but the representative informed me that he could not send it to me (not completely sure why).

Could you please call me at (709)739-8214 to discuss this with me. There are other details that I need to provide but a bit lengthy to get into in this message.

I appreciate any help that you can provide me in getting a resolution to this matter.

I have been a member for years with LA Fitness. I was at the Mockingbird location for some time. It was going downhill for also. They could not keep up the equipment nor find the leak of the pool pump coming through the walls and onto the work area by the steps. It was constantly smelling and had mold. I left there and upgraded my membership to go the Signature in uptown. I paid the difference to go to this location . NO problem. It too has been not kept the best . The speakers in the Cycling room have been busted for months - it sounded like it was lighting and thundering to the bass. I had to leave several times as I could not enjoy the music or my ride as it was it just not enjoyable. Several occasions when I went in the morning at 5 AM - it was very dirty , not picked up . Trash cans full and towels every where. I was not happy there. I have recently moved and now I go to Lake Highland location. It is Great gym. Well kept up - its clean and nice. I called today to notify the team that I no longer need to pay the premium price for Signature as I was happy at Lake Highlands. Ben said it was not possible in the system to override any sort pf prices to get a lower price per month. I would have to open a new membership and pay first and last months fee to get a lower price. WHY should I have to pay another fee for when I am simply downgrading me membership. Ben was very nice and tried to explain the policy - but I think it is not fair to pay another fee for when I paid a nice upgrade for the signature. These are pictures of UPtown Dallas this morning. Just FYI Gross! Look at the clock. It does not lie. This is not acceptable to start the day like this. All I am asking for is for a lower rate. NO NEW Membership . It shouldn't have to be this hard. There was an incident at basketball court. A man was yelling and screaming very inappropriate things about women and he use foul language. Children were passing by. He walked outside of court screaming louder at another man. He was operational manager. His name is Jamel. Very rude.

I JUST JOIN THE BRIDGVILLE CLUB ABOUT MONTH AND HALF AGO THE WIRLPOLE IS ALWAYS OUT OF SERVICE IT HAS ONLY IN USE 4 DAYS IN ALL THE TIME I HAVE BEEN AT THE CLUB.THE POLE IS JUST AS BAD THEY SAY THE PROBLEM IS POOR VENTLATION FOR THIS AREA. I THINK YOU NEED A BETTER COMPANY TO SERVICE THE POOL AREA.IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM IT IS EASY TO RECTIFY REMOVE ONE OF THE TOP GLASS WINDOW IN INSTALL A EXUST FAN THAT WOULD HANDLE THE PROBLEM OF THE GAS THAT IS CREATED BY THE FUMES FROM THE POOLE THANK YOU

When I went to the LA fitness in Escondido CA yesterday to go my 30 minute cardio routine, I found that only fox news was on the TV and all the other TVs were showing sports channels. I went to the front desk and informed them that there was no CNN and requested they change a sports channel to CNN. This is the second time this has happened.
As happened before, this employee, named Brook, informed me that they switched it yesterday so people could watch the Womens world cup soccer tournament and when she was no longer busy she would switch it. I asked it if would be done in 40 minutes and she told me she would get to it when she was no longer busy! I told her I was not happy with that answer and she answered by silence.
This has only happened to me at the Escondido location.
I do not know if you have a policy about changing channels but it seems to me channels get switched for some members and for others, like me, I get told they are busy and will get to it when they can. A policy regarding channel switching would help the employees in this regard.
I did not do my cardio workout as the channel was not switched when I finished the weights. I can not relax watching Fox news, as some people can't relax watching CNN. Both channels should be on simultaneously, I feel.

My experience has been met with unfriendly staff at the countryside, IL location. I've shown up for classes that were cancelled and not updated when inquiring at the front desk no knowledge or attempt to find definitive answers were met. I received a free drawing for personal training and we unable to reach the gentleman who was claiming to help me make that apt. He had no voicemail and the front wouldn't leave him a msg and did not know his schedule. After 4 months I had made a choice to leave this gym and when he called again inquiring about this personal training apt. He had false information apparently noted as to why I declined months previous. I asked him if I could tell him my concern and why I'm leaving the gym for constructive criticism and he cut me off stating that was not his department and my opinion was just that. He claimed how I felt could not have been met with phone conversations. Very unprofessional and I stand by my decision to leave this gym and the negative vibes it has.

I have had a major problem manager ,at the Levittown, NY location ,that goes by the name Brandon or Branden. He has been rude, obnoxious and has tried to scam me when I tried to add a friend as a member to the gym. The other day I was fed up with his attitude and asked him to give me the corporate headquarters phone number. He did as he was told but then called corporate himself the following day and over exaggerating everything that was said and telling someone by the name of Carrie at corporate that I threatened him. Then Carrie asked me to go to a new location for a while so she can figure out if I am aloud to even go to that location anymore! This is ridiculous! I agreed with Carrie but then when I closed the phone I said to myself why should I have to go to a different location even of it's temporary for a manager who is a two faced evil person? My wife was also there and is a witness to what was said as well. I will continue to go to this gym because I have every right to. This lying unprofessional child that calls himself a manager should be fired! I deserve an apology from this so called manager and if this manager still pursues this, I will have my lawyer take care of this personally!

The young men employed there need to be trained how to behave. For the last two weeks everytime I would come in the young men who work there were blasting music (different from the music piped in). They would be LOUD and obnoxious singing and socializing with one another. This is a very disturbing site, no professionalism at all. One of the young men spoke to me on my way out and asked how my work out was. I told him it would have been nice if they had not been blasting the music and singing out LOUD! He said something like "we just want to make our day fun!" Please train them to be professional. I've stopped going to Santa Fe Springs, as the managers there do not know how to manage. They were both there during this nonsense.

Again things are broken in the gym on Val Vista in Gilbert Arizona. This time they have removed bench tops on several workout benches and since they have only one movable workout bench this creates a problem for using certain equiptment. The said part when asked when it might be fixed your employees could care less about when it might return to use. I will be canceling my membership and returning the Lifetime Fitness

9-5 M-F I CAN GO IN AND SIT AND WAIT FOR HOW LONG? I AM A CAREGIVER & LIMITED IN ABILITY TO GET OUT AT ALL. THINKING NEXT OPTION IS TO CANCEL CREDIT CARD AND FILE A FRAUDULENT CHARGE WITH VISA REGAREDING.

Myself and a couple other members were in the training room where it was not closed off and there were no trainers or trainees in the area . Lavell Harthon the Fitness Director at the La Fitness at 19531 Mission Village Dr. in Riverside California came in with a couple at 2pm on 5/2/2019 . He told the couple we will get started once i kick these other people out . I said you mean ask us to leave right . He said "No Kick you out did you not read the contract . " I felt very uncomfortable and be littled how he told us to leave the training room . I called and spoke with the manager at the location and he said that he would have a conversation with Lavell. I will be calling customer service to further this complaint because it was kind of sickening and makes me not want to go back to La Fitness

Shadyside PA When I have big a plate for something manager Friday did not call me back Saturday I called majorite busy she told me the manager will call me back never did this is to do employees or still in off of members And the management don't Shadyside blown off I hope something is done about this if not I'll take it in my own hands you won't like that period rich

I heard an inappropriate comment by an employee in the lady's women's locker room 4/13/19 (Waldorf) (15 minutes before closing), "I'm not the one! Yall going to get yall asses out of here.". It was very VERY unprofessional and there has to be a more appropriate way of notifying your customers that closing time is approaching. I hope this is not acceptable behavior at LA Fitness!

Wednesday April 10th. Front desk manager, 10:05am, Lake Forest, California,

I signed up at the Mission Viejo store , for a membership to any LA fitness, at that time I was given 5 free one week trial memberships to any LA fitness. I gave them to Brian Hemley to use. He used to be a member as well as I at the lake Forest location.

He came in twice and both times, the front desk clerk just took his one week pass and let him in, but did not sign up his name on the computer. Brian today asked me to walk in with him. I said ok. The front desk manager started being very rude, a black haired girl with a pony tail wearing black sport clothing, ling bbn pants. Extremely rude and obnoxious. She started asking for his pass. I ex9lained to her about the pass but she cut me off and sent me to the sales MEN. I told her he had been intwitch, and in a rushed unsophiscated voice, she started asking quite loudly as if to raisexattention the names of the front desk clerk who he spoke too. ,she said that she could not help me then, and again insisted we go to the sales associates. I approached one guy with a tanning bed tan, who was apparently on a personal call on speaker phone, who was also very rude and later starting siding with the front desk manager. I then talked to Josh. He was very nice and helpful. I askedJosh, why the front desk clerk was not following the LA Fitness rules, and having Brian Hemley go through the free week process. He told me to ask the Front Desk Manager. I then learned it was the rude girl. I was surprised, the managers are supposed to lead by example and she was setting a terrible example and in my opinion mismanaging the front desk. I asked her, she got very mad. Afmgain insisting for me to give her the names of these two front desk clerks. I said I usually just walk in and give my number and walk through. I asked if she had a business degree and she got really pissed and told me that was personal information and none of my business. I then said , can I have your name, she said no that was personal information. .,she started yelling and got right in my face threat in my and ask uh ng me if I wanted her to cancel my member ship. I was just watching her, like I was watching a good tv drama. She was pretty intense, yelling in my face. She got her face pretty close to mine. After she backed away, as to not prove her intimate violent attack, a trained response I have, I do not like physical attacks, and would not have ever retaillated physically, ,.,I still wanted her to back away, before i responded. .you know like when an abusive parent tells at you, and gets in yourface, you just watch, learn, and listen. After she backed away, I asked her how i was supposed to know their names, when she herself is supposed to lead by example and she us not even wearing a name tag. She again starting yelling at me, telling me that was personalinformation, refused to give me her name, and was asking I'll n a stern tone if i wanted her to cancel my membership. I did not reply or answer. I was only here to get Brian in the computer for his free week. She stopped talking as I was just looking at her and had no interest in her brainless abusive attacks towards me for whatever reason. She left to her front desk. Josh apologized, ,,,put Brian in the system, and I am writing this letter on a step in the fitness center, on my way back to the locker room, to go jacuzzi. To whom this concern my complaint is for the la fitness over here in Grand Prairie Tx off Interstate 20 I went In to see if I could Park my truck Bobtail in the back of y’all facility he said no ok I ask if I had a membership could park back he said no again but live across from la fitness and see trucks parking back there all the time if they have a membership it’s ok for them to park back there but ask if had a membership he said I couldn’t back there so want to speak with the owner.

As a multi year member i find the maintenance of machines very poor and sporadic . attention and delays very poor to equipment .I have visited several locations in my area and have never experienced these problems . ! Temperatures are kept far below what

Can I give it lest then 1 star. May half a star. Honestly I been working out there for 10 years plus but there is always issue. They do not clean the gym, maybe once a week. Showers are so dirty, stair master are so dangerous. They don't have a replacement plan for but it has be report that "out of service" for over a month now. I will get a hold at health department because gym is an department of being heathy, most important they don't have napkins on Saturday or Sunday and if they do it is limited. I guess you what you pay is what you get. Planet fitness is much cleaner then LA fitness but less equipment. Thank you. Hopefully there is something done but I 100% sure that they will ignore this and move on. Cause people will pay no matter what.

My complaint consist of poor customer service when joining LA Fitness and not receiving my contract after getting a personal trainer. I have been with LA Fitness for three weeks and would like to cancel my contract for as the personal trainer aspect and the staff charging my account erroneously and keep giving me the run arounds even with an appt to get the action fixed. I have been going to the customer service everyday before working out with my trainer and the staff would tell me they would come and get me when he's finished, never happens. I have yet to see my contract after I have spend 499.00 for membership. I am a DISABLED VETERAN who have served for 20 yrs in the military and recently had bilateral knee replacement and looking for help to get back on the right track and have to continue to get the run around getting the proper service. Please help!

I have been a member of LA Fitness for over 5 years. LA Landing (Renton) has been my home gym as it is only a mile or so away. The latest renovation of the facility is nice, new floors, wall murals and machines. My question is, who made the decision to remove every piece of Free Motion cable equipment? They are simple, safe and easy to use for full range of motion exercise. Having already checked, there is not a LA in the area (Fairwood, Tukwilla, Federal Way, Kent, Tacoma) that have removed the Free Motion line of equipment. Only the Landing. All the other new equipment is fixed motion, and the human body does not move in a fixed range of motion. Also, I use the pools at all the LA gyms, and they all tend to be hazy or cloudy. On a scale of 10 with ten being the clearest, the Fairwood pool regularly rates an 8 or 9, with all the others rating 7 or less. My career was spent operating commercial pools, with 14 of those years as a civilian contractor at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Cloudy pools were "not an option" at the Academy, so I used water clarifier as needed to achieve clarity. Whoever is caring for the LA pools in the Seattle/Tacoma area either does not understand how to properly administer liquid clarifier, does not recognize the water is not clear, or doesn't care. I hope this information helps you address these issues, as I'm probably not the only member to recognize them. Thank you, Scott Coon

I am trying to cancel my membership and was told that I either have to come to the gym during work hours, before 5:00PM or complete a cancellation form. First of all, like most people I work and it's hard to be at the gym before 5:00PM. Secondly, I can't just pull the cancellation form on your website, I have to sign in?? Thirdly, if I choose to mail in the form, you know how long it will take? Not only that, I have to check if you receive my mail to make sure that you won't charge my credit card. How inconvenient!!
While it is very easy to sign up - your system is conveniently able to accept payment right there at the gym, any time of day, but not for cancellation? Members have to show up within certain hours of the day. Why the different rules? I understand that big corporations like yours have to make profit, and a lot of it, but where is your customer service?

Yep - looking at the other complaints here - i see a pattern - Kevin the training manager is simple RUDE and unprofessional - how you ask, well let me share my story... On Thursday March 8th 2019 I was at the gym with my 14 year old daughter. Its a good time and perfect opportunity for us to bond and I have been in fitness for over 45 years so it something I can help her with. She is involved in sports and really wanted to start working out, so about 4 months ago, when she turned 14 I signed her up at LA Fitness Bridgeville Pa. On this particular evening (March 8th 2019) the gym was starting to empty and I had my daughter doing some basic squats and lunges. All of a sudden, out of nowhere I was approached by guess who? Kevin! He kind of came at me, aggressively! This caught me a little off guard - I have seen him around the gym, usually walking around with a buddy talking and goofing around. But today he was on a mission and seemed agitated. He started the conversation with, you cant train her in here! I said well, I'm not really, I'm teaching my daughter how to work out. I want her to be safe and use proper technique. He said we have trainers for that. You don't know what you're doing. I'm a trained Kinesiologist. She's going to get hurt and she doing it wrong. And it was how he said it. In a very angry tone and it was very insulting. My daughter was taken back too and became nervous and scared. I said, hey, this is my 14 year old daughter. I'm being a parent and passing along all the knowledge over the past 50 some years of working out to her so that she can be safe and enjoy the sport. I was a former Marine who managed and developed a shipboard weight training program for Marines on a ship, helped my son who is a D1 recruit and student athlete and a litany of others too much to list. Anyway, he then stated to threaten my membership and said he was putting notes on my account and that I will get kicked out. I said for what? I'm just trying to supervise my daughters workout thats it - this is crazy! He continues to cherp so I went to another LA Fitness representative. This other sales rep (the one who signed up my daughter) became nervous and gave me the impression he wanted nothing to do with the situation but he was a good listener. A few days later I saw the club manager. I expressed my surprise, disappointment and anger on how I was approached and embarrassed in public in front of my daughter by KEVIN. He too was a good listener and it seems like he understood my dilemma and concern - we left on a good note. Ahhhh, today, March 19 2019. Once again I was with my daughter setting up some exercised for her to do. Same, it was evening and the gym was getting empty. KEVIN walked up and said, hey your racquetball days are over! You will be getting a call tomorrow from corporate and your membership will be revoked. Once again, he did this in public view of my daughter and other guests. He continued to cherp and I stopped him and requested that he please just STOP Harassing us in front of all the guest who were standing there!!! I said i'm going to the manager and he said I am the manager and started laughing at me. WOW!! I then saw the club manager and again went to him. He was receptive but a little hesitant. He said hey, we represent different area me sales, Kevin training. He said that he sympathized with me and understood. He felt uncomfortable and wanted to help but this puts him in a situation. I said hey, we cant reward bad behavior from anyone even a colleague. He did say he would not let anything happen to my membership - he is not in the business of losing customers. Kevin keep peering from a cube close by almost taunting me (acting like a little kid)!. I said i will not let this behavior go - I'm 50 and i bother no one ever in this gym and have been a member for over 10 years! Someone please get this kid some help, manors, respect and a job where he does not deal with customers. My daughter was simple uncomfortable, had a tear in her eye and i said lets go! As i left i saw KEVIN on his cell phone laughing at me as I drove by. Real Professional!

I went into the La Fitness at 1900 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257. I spoke with the front desk person on 2/24. I requested to close my account and was told I need to come in person Mon-Fri from 9am-5pm. Those are my working hours. I can't come in. The front desk clerk (female, Caucasian, brown hair, late teens to early 20's) began to snap and me.It was the rudest behavior I had ever experienced. Then I requested to speak to a manager. I was given the sales counselor. I think his name was Eric, but I'm not sure (very tall, Caucasian, male, with blonde hair). I made the same request. He refused to assist me and told me, "I don't make the rules lady." He was brash and rude. I requested the customer complaint line. He wrote don a number that doesn't work. I genuinely think it was in effort to silence my complaint. The clerk started to yell at me and asked my reason for wanting to close the account. I said that the gyms are over packed, I now have a free gym at my complex, and a previous manager and several locations in the valley, including this one said that they were going to have a kick boxing station outside of the cardio classes. The pucning bags can't be used when there is a class. None of the locations made due on their promises. I had been waiting to see if they would keep thier word. Since it is clear that they won't, I no longer want to wait. I requested assistance and was denied flat out. I have tried to call on my lunch break several times, but they refuse to let me leave a message. This accounts manager is never available. The office clerk refused to take a written message for me. The most recent conversation has been with Hannah on 3/12. It was over the phone so I don't know if it was the same girl, but she too was very inconsiderate and refused to take a message. She is a front desk clerk who answers phone, I am not understanding why this is impossible. I have had my account for 14 years. You should be asking me to stay, not holding my account hostage. I wish to schedule a complimentary senior sneakers training session at LA Fitness, Bridgeville PA. Manager Alicia said she asked head trainer Kevin to call me to schedule this session. I would like instruction on 2-3 machines which would probably take about 15-20 minutes. In a previous session, the trainer would not give me any instruction on the machines so i complained to Alicia and still nothing has been settled. How hard is this? The trainers prefer a training "sales " session.

Received an email offering 10% bonus if I purchased a gift card. Received the $150 gift card after placing the charge on my credit card. Never received the $15 bonus gift card. Called and had to review my credit number, etc. Was promised all was set. Still never received the bonus. Called again a few weeks later. This time was told I had to verify the offer. They had no idea what I was referring to. Spent days and weeks speaking to various reps ..after I sent copies of the offer (LA Fitness doesn't have these records of their own promotions!! Really?) Still waited. I had to jump hoops in order to get the $15 dollar gift card . It was totally annoying.I have been a member since 2011. If I didn't enjoy the people I have met there. I would have given up. The best or worse of this scenario.I was told as a courtesy to me, they wouldn't cover $1.61. After everything I was put through (at least 6 weeks of calls and texts) LA Fitness should have been a bit more gracious and offered me a lot more than $1.61..I am 65 and have been a member for 8 years..no good reason to have gone through all this. Was advised by all to put this out on social media..I really think LA Fitness .could have done a lot better than $1.61 in compensation. That was insulting. I should have been treated better

I start my personal tran. Membership on Feb.5 but Joshua Shaker tomd me that my paents will be $240 each month and I accept. On Friday March 1st they call me that my card was declain and I say to them that my payment was on March 5th and they tell me that Joshua split the payment in two parts but he never tell me that to see if I agree or not so I went to talk to him and he start telling me that I was saying a lie so I told to him that I will cal my lawyer and he told me ok bring him and we would see who win this. I told him that I want to talk with his manager and he told that was him and I told him why he did not tell me that he was taking more money from my acount and he just say sorry I did not feel necessesary and I ask him to show me the paper that I sign and he told me I do not have the original because I throw it in the trash I think if he is a manager I think he is not proffecional because he was just laughing about me and he needs to contact the costomer to tell what he is going to do. I am a student that is saving money for college and I do not think is fair that they take that much money just because they feel is Good. On Saturday 2/2/19 I and a friend joined the gym. The woman who signed us up said we would benefit from the free trainer consult. I had my free session Sunday 2/3/19 with Anastasia, my friend also joined in. Anastasia said doctors are liars and preceded to our workout for intake purposes. When it got to the ropes, I was using my upper arms and Anastasia told me I was doing it wrong. Anastasia told me to flip my wrists, to uses my wrists to lift the ropes and make ripples. The following day I had bruising on my right hand and pain. I was seen by urgent care and was diagnosed with a bruised tendon. This injury can take up to 6 weeks to heal and I was given a brace. The pain has gotten worse and there is still swelling. I was seen by orthopedics yesterday 3/2/19, and they gave me a more restrict hand/forearm brace. I was told that in 2 weeks if I’m still having problems with my right hand that it may be a tear and I will need an MRI. Anastasia needs to be retrained in the workout areas before another customer gets injured. I’m awaiting a reply please as this is not a joke and the pain is real. I am right hand dominant and this is frustrating.

I am extremely upset at the way I was taken advantage of. Back in May, I have called to cancel my LA fitness account since I moved from La, and where I live, there aren't any La fitness accessible. The lady I spoke to on the phone explained to me that she wasn't able to cancel my account over the phone because of certain rules, I had to receive an e- mail from her and through the e-mail which costs about $10 I would then be able to end my membership with LA fitness. I followed the instructions, paid what ever fine I had to pay since I wasn't able to go into an actual gym to cancel my account- and thought I have ended my membership account since. Today, through my chase bank alert, I was shown an automatic withdrawal of $10 from LA fitness so I called customer service to find out what happened. After being laughed at by an employee whom I asked why is this funny? He explained to me that a lot of their new employees miss-communicate the process of cancellation of accounts and that throughout this time, I was charged $10 every month, because my account was frozen- not cancelled.

He made the " exception" to cancel my account once and for all over the phone which they normally don't do. Why does your company make the exception only after a customer has wasted over $90 of random charges to then cancel the account over the phone? I'm extremely angry and I'm demanding your company to reverse me my $10 paid each month without my full understanding on why my account was frozen instead of cancelled.
This is an illegal way of charging customers through loop wholes, you should focus on upgrading your amenities, or customer service to grow your business, instead of being known for scamming people. La fitness should have a better reputation than that.
When I tried to ask for a reimbursement for the $10 charges in my account,
I was told that they can only reverse it back to 60 days, which isn't right if I was being charged without my knowledge for over 9 months.

Had it not been for my bank alert that popped out of no where, I would still not have know today that I was being charged $10 every month for a gym I can not even use. I am demanding a solution for this horrible cancellation policy- your policy has become a laughing stock topic between your staff which isn't a smart move.

The microphone at north lake (which is located in. Tucker Ga. ), has not worked for weeks. In fact last week the static was so bad the instructor could not teach the class. However , since she is such a great instructor she taught any way which was extremely difficult. Please provide the instructors with a new microphone.

I normally work out at the LA Fitness club on Gilbert Rd in Gilbert Arizona. The club closed for renovation and I had to use the closest club which is located on Val Vista in Gilbert Arizona. The staff there are very friendly however the equiptment is in poor shape and in fact many of the machine weight and pins to hold the weight are full of rust. This club is in need of attention and now I must travel much farther until the club I use daily is reopened.

I am a Silver Sneakers member at LA Fitness in Bridgeville PA and would like to receive instruction on how to operate the fitness machines. Today my husband and I received a training session, but the trainer would not give us any instruction on any of the machines. We felt the training session was a sales session. He said if he gave us instruction on how to operate the machines and we didn't use them properly, we might be injured. I asked how members at LA fitness learned how to use the machines and he said people used you tube, magazines, etc. I am very frustrated because I have tried on at least 3 occasions to get some instruction and it seems this is not the policy at the fitness facility. At LA Fitness located on 852 Highway 3 Clifton NJ today 02/19/19 at 10:30 am I was with my son Renzo Sierra in the locker room getting ready for exercise. Surprisingly I found out that there was a person making a cleaning the whole area using the mop, water and soao all over the floor, I almost suffered an accident because the floor was slipey and wet, such operation didn't allow people to use the bathroom, showers and swiming pool. I spoke to Manager Efrain Fernandez after those inconveniences and he told me he was ordered from Headquarters for the cleaning today. What I don't understand is the time or this cleaning so inconvenient for users and risky at same time which makes feel uncomfortable to anybody because I heard people speaking about this absurd situation. I hope in the future recomend the manager to take some common sense about the time of cleanings specially when people is using the locker rooms. I fell in class at the L A Fitness in port St. lucie West facility. I'm 70 years old the teacher asked me quickly if I was ok. Never stopped to come over to see how I was or stopped the music. Never came to see if I was ok after class. The floors feel sticky and that's why I fell. My sneakers stuck to floor. Terrible customer service from the instructor. Needs to be retrained.

I have been in some gyms that need cleaning and I realize there's a lot of people that comes through the doors, but L A Fitness beats them all. The floor in our locker room hasn't been mopped in the 3 mos. of my membership. The areas around the resistance machines are not touched with a mop, and I know because I am one of the first in the door in the morning. The sweat droppings that were there the previous morning are present and accounted for the next day. Oh I can continue but what's the chance of anything being done about it. The L A Fitness in Cherry Hill, N.J. was just as nasty if not more so. While I watch some of the maintenance people lean on mops and talk, instead of doing there jobs !! Its not their fault, its the supervisor that's not doing his/and or her job.... I will continue tomorrow with a few photos that I should have taken this morning but will not forget again !!

Hi, I'm a member of LA Fitness, I frequent the one in Escondido, off El Norte behind the Vons shopping center.

The last few times I have gone in, there is a cleaning crew, they clean the machines, which is great, however, they use a very strong chemical to clean the machines, and they do it, right in front of, below or next to the person working out, for instance, once they literally cleaned the machine right next to me, and the smell was so strong, I had to cover my face. Today, it happened again, this time, I could literally taste the chemicals in my mouth, my nose started to burn and my face broke out in hives. I told her it was too strong and she said "yes, I know" and kept doing it. I went to the front desk, spoke to Katie, apparently she's the manager. When I told her, she treated me like it wasn't a big deal, and said "I can't do anything if I don't know about it." How did she not know, the people cleaning the machines are literally right there and the smell is so strong, its hard to miss. If Katie is the manager, I can say, that when I come in, which is every day, she scans my barcode, doesn't look up, doesn't say "hi" nothing, others that work at the front desk have always been super nice and sweet, Katie doesn't crack a smile.

I wanted someone to know, the I literally still have hives on my shoulders and on my face from breathing in the chemicals used to clean the machines, right next to people working out. Please make this stop.

Hi I have 2 memberships at your Port Orange location that I pay for monthly. The wi fi has been out at this location for almost a month when asked about it for the past 2 weeks the staff responds we are waiting for a part that should be in today. I ship items on a daily basis and can ship anything across the country in a day or two. I know that they are told to say this but I do not appreciate being lied to or dismissed like that. Can I have a credit or partial refund for the past month? If this can't be resolved I will have to cancel both memberships. This was a nice facility when I joined 3 years ago but has gone down hill in the past year and the management is neither helpful or friendly. .

My wife and I are both members at LAF in Monroeville PA (joined about 6 months ago when another facility we belonged to closed). Now, I'm hesitant to use the word "complaint" simply because I think we're all sick and tired of complainers. Every time ya turn around someone's squawking about something, and most often, it seems, it's just about the "me, I, mine" attitudes that are so pervasive in today's world. They're at every turn and they're ready and willing to unleash their selfish diatribes as long as they have an audience and regardless if anyone is attentive or not! Now, having said that, I have 2 suggestions for this LAF facility - first, though, a little background: My wife and I (both age 60+) and are serious about fitness. She attends spinning (cycle), and body works plus abs classes 4-5 times a week. I swim vigorously 4-5 times a week, usually racking up anywhere from 5-7 miles per week in the water. Since joining LAF, however, the pool at this facility has been closed repeatedly for "maintenance" and for "mechanical parts" needed for the efficient operation of the pool. Presently (as it has been previously) the pool again is closed for "maintenance'. This time the shut down is due to the "atmosphere" in the pool area needing to be dehumidified, which is presently being done by portable dehumidifiers. Also, the pool is closed every day between 2 and 3 PM for cleaning. My suggestions (or appeals) would be:
1.) Please provide a permanent solution for the ongoing "air quality" situation by obtaining reliable "parts" and fixing the air quality bug for good.
2.) Is it possible to have the pool cleaned before or after members use hours?

The closures are frustrating at least and disruptive to fitness regimens at worst, as are the cleanings right in the heart of the day. Thanks for listening.

The personal training is a hoax and a fortune! DON'T DO IT! They hire little kids to train you who have no experience or knowledge, basically to sell to people who are in dire need to improve their health, They don't follow up, never took my weight or BMI, but still took my money month after month. They didn't even schedule my training sessions! Finally after a month of no contact they called and asked if I wanted to work out. What a joke! So I said no I am cancelling! A month later they call me back and ask if I want to train. At this point I am totally confused because I cancelled. Just to be told, oh it doesn't work like that you have to pay anyway. Even if you are not getting the service and the girls you were working with aren't here anymore so we are sorry just come back in. BS! Worst robbery ever! I could make a car payment for the amount of money they have been charging me! Ridiculous theft and shouldn't be allowed! DO NOT GO THERE!

Re: Harassment and hate based on race and color at LA Fitness in Blaine, Minnesota
Dear Sir/Madam:
I am a Black person who is a member of LA Fitness for more than a year. On January 10, 2019, I checked into the LA Fitness located at 100 Northtown Drive in Blaine at about 6:30 pm and headed to the pool area. There were two people in the whirlpool spa and about fifteen trainees in the swimming pool. The instructor of the aerobatics in the swimming pool was a Caucasian lady.
Before entering the whirlpool spa, I took shower. After I got in the spa, the employee of LA Fitness who is giving aerobatic training in the swimming pool came to the spa, pulled me out, and asked me if I took shower despite seeing water droplets on my body. I have never come across anyone being asked about taking shower. The employee who asked me if I took shower was not assigned to supervise the spa and it was not part of her job description to check on members if shower is taken or not. Her implicit/explicit bias is therefore, nothing else but hate based on race and color as she is white and I was the only black person there out of about 15 pool attendants who are all caucasians.
As I have been the member of the center for more than a year, I have never seen or observed members being asked whether they shower or not. I reported the incident to the Front desk at about 7:30 pm the same day with my contact information left with the person I reported to.
I believe the employee of the LA Fitness harassed me because of my race and the color of my skin. As the result I was humiliated in front of about 15 pool attendants since none of the pool attendants there were asked the question I was asked. What happened to me is against human decency, dignity and in violation of my rights as a member as well. Therefore, I am asking the LA Fitness to investigate the incident and take corrective action since racial hatred has no place in our community. Such double standard may tarnish the image of LA Fitness. If such an incident is ignored and left unattended, it would be a disaster for our co-existence as one human being.
Evidences: 1) the trainees who were in the pool between 6:30 – 7:00 pm. Even one of the trainees asked me to ignore and move on, 2) Security camera footage in the pool area between 6:30 – 7:00 pm.

I switched from Gold's Gym to LA Fitness as the club locker rooms were not being maintained. After a two year membership at the LA Fitness in Rockville, MD I can tell you the facility is not well maintained. From the stain ceilings to the lack of soap in the men's locker room, I can tell you that I am again shopping for a facility that is clean and well maintained.

Yesterday, Saturday, January 19th the men's toilets were absolutely disgusting. Each of the five toilets were in desperate need of service, the toilet paper was all over the floor, and again no soap in the showers. The dirty towel bins were overflowing on to the floor and by the way, there were no gym towels available at the front desk upon arrival.

On Saturday, January 12th, at 10:00 Am I had an assessment appointment with Jason, a trainer. He was very insulting and rude. During the appointment he told me he had never seen anything as high of body fat as mine was. I am 60 years old, weigh 144 pounds and am 5'4". He told me more than 50% of my body is fat that is clogging my arteries and that I could have a heart attack, and that I need to lose 76 pounds of fat and build muscle. He told me I needed a trainer (him) to show me how to use weight lifting equipment to gain muscle now and to give me structure. Actually I am very diligent in all my life activities, including exercise. When I told him I can do this by myself by coming to the gym and using the equipment, he told me that I am not knowledgeable about the body and don't know how touse the equipment. He said half the people here are using the equipment wrong. He gave me options of trainer plans, the cheapest being $160.00 a month. When I told him it was not in my budget, he said, "You work for comcast. It is in your budget. You just don't care about your health." I told him in the beginning I have a frozen shoulder, yet he asked me to do push ups. This trainer is dangerous to the members. This trainer almost made me completely cancel my membership which I just started on Saturday January 5th. Almost every thing he claimed was contradictory to what I had been told by a doctor on annual physicals.

I was trying to join your Dudley Drive West Chester OH location & ran into problems having your system accept my Silver & Fit # 39045813..
I came back to my house to verify this number & called back @ 513-298-0134 & spoke to a Natalie who continued having problems with your system accepting this application number even though I explained that it was used this very same day ( 01/15/2019 ) @ the Mason Oh Community Center to enroll there. Suspecting that Natalie might not have the experience to fulfill my request, I then asked for & was transferred to a person who identified themselves as the facility General Manager. ( Sorry I do Not recall his name ). This person came off to me as uninterested & annoyed that he had to deal with this problem, I then gave him the Customer Service number for Silver & Fit &saked that he call them & he flat out refused to call them stating ( & I quote ) "+This is your problem you need to call them & have them call us back! "
I then mentioned that if this was the level of service just to enroll then what was I to expect the Customer service to be like if I encountered a problem
down the road.. He then gave me a flippant response that I then told him was unexceptable & if I were to consider joining your club I would expect to receive a better level of customer service than this. He then said that he really did Not care if I went elsewhere & to deal with this problem myself!
Totally Unprofessional & Downright Rude!

This is now your problem to deal with as I will probably join another club elsewhere ( NOT L A Fitness ) because of this interaction I was forced to endure..

In early September of 2018 I spoke to Doris Pejic about my membership. I was scheduled for a total knee replacement for September 17, 2018 and I had paid in advance through December of 2018. I turned 65 in November of 2018 and my new hospitalization has Silver Sneakers which your facility accepts. Ms Pejic assured me and informed me that she would put my membership on hold for the remaining of September and October and when I was able to come back they would credit me for the difference and reinstate me under the Silver Sneaker program.
I had complications with my surgery and was unable to come back to the facility until the first of December. In November I started receiving repeated phone calls about my account and that there was no current credit card on my account. I explained that I was paid in full through December and when I was released I would come in with my Silver Sneaker number. This did not satisfy your predatory phone jockeys. I finally got to come home and called and spoke to Kevin, the manager, and gave him my Silver Sneaker number over the telephone and let him know that when I was released by my doctors and therapist I would be in to finalize the details. I came in early December and finalized my Silver Sneaker membership closing out the old membership. I have yet to receive the credit as promised. Kevin said its because the card on file was no longer good and when speaking to my credit card company they assured me that any credit received would follow from the old card to the new card. I would like this resolved as soon as possible and if it cannot be resolved I will be canceling my membership.

The Miami Gardens location's morning front desk person has horrible service. Wednesday December 26th 2018, she demanded that I move my vehicle because, "I have parked in her space, I don't care where you move, you can park right up front if you want, but this is my space and I park here everyday!" The gym is in a strip plaza with open parking. Unacceptable! And this was not the first time. This is the third time in three years that this has happen, Last year someone else parked there and she asked my was it my car, I stated that it wasn't. She then chased myself and my girl friend out side to see what we were driving and confronted my girl friend and has asked her if it was my car. I have complained to the manger :Sky", on all three occasions and she say, I'll talk to her". Unacceptable, unprofessional, and not worthy of my continued business!

Severe black mold around the side of jacuzzy ! This can be health hazard and get on people shoulder while sitting in the jacuzzy.
This is at California Fountain Valley @Talbert location. People complained but never fixed.

I have three centers close to my home and could not use any last Wednesday/Friday.. At Northern Avenue, the pool heater was not working; at Metrocenter, the pool was closed again for maintenance; the Moon Valley location has been closed for some time for remodeling. Perhaps you could try a new pool service that can keep the pools up and running.

I am a long time member of LA Fitness. I am a member of the Bowie MD gym and I also visit nearby LA Fitness gyms in Gambrills MD and Upper Marlboro MD. My complaint is that since the Bowie and Upper Marlboro gyms are in predominately African American communities, the equipment gets broken and it takes more than a year to fix the equipment. However, at the Gambrills MD gym which is located in a predominately white community, the equipment breaks and the equipment is fixed within 2 weeks. This is DISCRIMINATION!!! Many of the members in Bowie and Upper Marlboro are complaining and some are leaving to go to Gold's Gym. I would hate to leave as well. There are two pec fly machines in Bowie that have been broken for over 16 months and the District Manager for LA Fitness hasn't done a thing to get it resolved. But in Gambrills MD, everything that was broken has been fixed. I hope that I do not have to take this DISCRIMINATION issue to Prince George's County that house these LA Fitness gyms but I will if this kind treatment continues.

I have been a member of Jack Lallane and Ballys with all club access since 1978 and am per my contract entitled to go to the clubs previously owned by Ballys but when LA Fitness bought 200 clubs and 24 Hr Fitness bought 30 clubs I was told I had to choose between them. I never missed any dues when it was Jack Lallane or Ballys but LA Fitness is telling me they will not honor the Bally contract because I did not pay the dues. This is a lie. 24 HR Fitness and LA Fitness both violated the contract by saying that I "have to choose". Now they want a lot of money and have no morals about the contract.
The Ballys that LA Fitness was far away and was dirty and run down so I went to 24 HR fitness and now they have closed in my area and I need help to enforce my lifetime contract to get my membership back. I am willing to pay back dues but what they are offering me is wrong and Illegal. Now all the clubs I used to go to I can't.

The la fitness store in Hemet ca. recently had a remodel. Good idea! BAD, VERY BAD result ! :( (1) You tiled the floor. Now if anybody sweats or spills a drink, slip hazard.(2) Anyone getting out of the pool, slip hazard.(3) Walking from the pool area dripping wet, slip hazard for everyone! (4) You removed a lot of essential equipment. (5) You removed all the step machines,, I don't mean the stair machines but the steppers!,(6) You took out the butterfly cable machine.,(7) You took out all the ab crunch machines., (8)You took out one of the leg press machines (cable machine)., (9) You moved the personal training and new member fitness testing area, not only increased its size and put it right in the middle of the floor!! ( WASTED SPACE!) The area is hardly ever used and now we have to walk all the way around it to go from free weights to machine weights. Completely breaks your stride and train of thought!! (10) A month before this terrible remodel I had a very bad experience with one of your personal trainers named( Anthony). Anthony had cursed me out, using profanity in front of other members of the club including his own clients., He proceeded to threaten me with bodily harm. Calling me a" PUSSY" and threatening to take me out in the parking lot and "kick my ass!" I immediately notified management (Jessica) I don't even know if she made a report. Apparently there was no reprimand or consequence of any kind seeing how he was at work the very next day! This should not be tolerated and should have resulted in his termination! At the very least he should have been suspended. I no longer feel safe or comfortable there. These are the reasons I have cancelled my membership!!!!!

LA fitness is making abusive phone calls after I tried to cancel my membership at least 4-5 times a day from different numbers across the country. They wouldn’t let me cancel my account and when my credit card expired I used that as my way out. Now they continue to harass and threaten me and will not stop unless I “write and official letter and mail it to them.” They won’t take my phone cancellation or even email requests to cancel. This must stop. This is illegal.

I am very disgusted with the continuos treatments at the Miami Gardens location. Months ago friend of mine were been discriminated due to color. They filled a complaint and nothing. Today as a team we reserved the raquetball court. We were wearing Zumba shoes, ballroom shoes, jazz shoes, they have suede as a sole. No rubber like sneakers, no rawhide sole like most shoes, just very soft suede which mimics socks. We were told to leave the room. Dancing is a fitness some studios provide Zumba as a class. But its not allowed in the raquet ball. Why i rented the room if thats how i want to utilize my time in the room why is it forbidden. Why discriminate towards us because of our shoes. Its allowed in the fitness room and not the raquet ball. When its the same flooring. The mánager threatend to remove me from the raquet ball room and i told him to call the police because if i reserved a room i was not going to leave. He threatend to Cancel my membership. This is how customers should be treated? There is nothing in your raquet ball policy that states no zumba/dancing allowed. If i reserve it i should be allowed to utilize it. I feel so disrespected in the manner i was approached.

I have utilized the LA Fitness centers on Conroy and Vinland-Apopka, Conroy and S. Kirkman Road and Orange Blossom Trail, all in the Orlando FL area for the last 5 years.
A few months ago, I notice at the LA Fitness on Kirkman, the TV system changed where a number of the news channels I would watch while riding the stationary bike, were not available. I changed bikes however, I discovered all the TV’s were the same. The front desk told me the system was down and would be fixed soon. For the next few weeks it still was not fixed. After a month I asked the front desk the status and was told it was HQ in LA that set what changes are available, but they were working on it. I go to the other LA Fitness and they have all the news channels. After a few weeks of the front desk telling me it is the HQ management, I asked to have the manager call me. Two weeks later I still had not received a call.
Today I asked again and was told it was a HQ call. The desk clerk said I could talk to the manager to which I told them I never received a call last time. Just them the manager walked in. I meet him as he was walking in and he walked by me not even acknowledging I existed (basically ignoring me) as I was explaining the situation. I told him I would like to talk to him and he continued to walk past me. I said I was talking to him and he said he was clocking in. He did not say stand by or to give him a minute or anything except walk away from me while I was talking to him. I told him it was rude to walk away from a person when they are talking to them. He said he had to clock in and acted like he did not want to talk to me, acknowledging me or even looking at me. I told him to never mind I would go through HQ.
1. I want to know why I can not watch the news shows on the TV’s at the Kirkman LA Fitness.
2. When it was changed and why?
3. Request that managers be interviewed during the hiring process to identify any weakness in the customer service area and then once hired ensure a robust training program on how to properly manage (customers, the store and events).
4. There have been a number of problems with the sauna, showers, bugs, and equipment maintained that has down graded over the last few months.
Please let me know when things are corrected at the Kirkman LA Fitness, so I can put it back in my rotation.

I am a member of LA Fitness. I often go to the one in Palm Harbor because it is closest to my home.

Yesterday I was playing racquetball and one of our players hurt his arm and was bleeding. Shannon, at the front desk claims she Manages the
facility in Palm Harbor, gave him a small bandage which he was bleeding through. I went to the front desk to ask Shannon for a better bandage and she said "we are out" they do not come in until the 16th. I asked her if she could go get them, or, have another person on her staff to get the bandages. Shannon then stated I was attacking her, instead of saying I'm sorry. I never raised my voice at this lady and she was the worst experience with customer service I have EVER had. How could a health club not be prepared in case of injury? How could a Manager be so rude and turn it around like I was exact words "ATTACKING HER"? I never raised my voice at this women? I really don't understand. I am in the customer service business, and I didn't become employee of the month by being rude to my customers, I personally go over and beyond the call of duty when it comes to my customers, and would NEVER dream of treating my customers like I was treated by Shannon, very inappropriate, I did not deserve her horrible treatment.
Also, the bathrooms, showers are always full of mold, mildew.

I was with Guest Pass on line, on 08/01/2018 and I went to LA Fitness 7060 Beracasa Way - Boca Raton FL and I did Body Works (Monica) and Zumba Class (Charlie). I loved them. But I was negotiating the Join exemption, because I'm looking for a job, and if I do not get this August, I'll have to go back to Brazil. So I asked Manager Jason for several times to exempt me from Join $ 99. If I decided to stay the following month, I would pay Join. He said that I would use the Guest Pass for 5 days, I would continue to pay the monthly fee for the month of August. This conversation was on yesterday's day. Today, when I arriving at the gym, my Guest Pass had been disabled and it was only my second day at the gym. And I was over-stimulated to make the Step Plus ABS class. Anyway in these 5 days I would know these classes and evaluate as well if I would continue at the gym.
I felt humiliated by the way Manager Jason Harris treated me, preventing me from going to class that already started. I was with Guest Pass. He doesn't had respect for me because he ignored everything he had talked about the previous day. He exposed me to the ridiculous in front of other employees. . Unfortunately, I don't speak English very well and I felt quite harmed by it.
I am a 58 year old lady. I survived a breast cancer and it gave me more motivation, beyond what I already had, to take care of my body doing exercises regularly. I love going to the gym wherever I am. In Florida I've met Anytime Fitness - Brandon, FFC - Fitness Formula Club Lincoln Park, Chicago, 24 Fitness - Pacific Beach San Diego and EOS Fitness - Point Loma - San Diego. All excellent gyms like LA Fitness, but I've never been treated with as much disrespect as I was today by LA Fitness Manager Jason Harris and I did nothing wrong since I was on my second day of Guest Pass and they wanted to obrigate me pay the Join this day. I was nervous and I felt discouraged. I didn't class today and I got back home crying.
What I asked for was to be exempt from Join. I have tried to explain several times that first, I need to find a formal job. Thank you for hear me and understand me.

LA/F in Rock Hill, SC has a member named (JOHN ) who has a need to grunt, scream and slam the weights so load that you can hear it throughout the entire gym. Many members have complained to the staff but nothing is done to ask John to stop is annoying habits. His abrupt noise is startling especially for the senior citizens. In the past John has had his membership revoked at two the local gyms for the same annoying habits. Some members actually have walked out of the gym in the middle of their workout and have talked about finding another gym to have an atmosphere more conducing for a workout. I'm am definitely not alone in my complaint. Something needs to be done before LA/F looses even more members !

2. Manager has been out for several days, while their swimming pool has an infestation of small beetle-like bugs that have wings. They are in the pool, on the pool deck, and I even wore one home on my clothing after changing from my swimming suit at that gym. I have reported the problem at their main desk to be told the manager is out of the building until Monday. No-one, apparently can call an exterminator or use an insecticide around there! It is gross! I pulled 20 of those beetles out of the water when I went the pool last Thursday. I need to exercise in the pool and can't until they take care of their bug problem! Please get after their manager to take care of this infestation ASAP!!!! Once, I saw a pool attendant using a net to clear the poolr of bugs and waste. That is not the solution!!!

The devious, untrustworthy salesperson at LA Fitness sold me an up-charge for statewide membership, when I specifically told him I wanted to just attend the one local fitness center. I understood that I was charged monthly for only the use of the one local fitness center.

I've just recently found out the monthly charge I've paid since I joined in, Feb, 2015 is for statewide membership. I found out through bringing a friend (who joined as a result of my invitation) and is charged $5.00 less than my monthly fee for the use of the one local fitness center, I have been overcharged 22 months at $5.00 monthly and have requested to be re-imbursed for the over charge. The amount is $110.00.

In addition, the facility is poorly staffed,many times fitness instructors don't show for scheduled classes, the parking lot is in very bad shape with huge potholes,and classes are scheduled inconveniently. Participants can not attend classes back to back. When trying to contact anyone regarding these issues, no-one returns calls. I will be notifying the State's Attorney and the BBB. I will also very negatively rate this LA Fitness Centers on the (suitable to my purposes) social media sites.

I will cancel my membership, and encourage the new member that I brought in to cancel as well.

On several occasions I have attempted to use the unisex handicapped bathroom at the LAFitness center on the corner of 53rd St and Lake Park in Chicago. The bathroom was occupied each time. Individuals who exited had no apparent handicap. On the most recent occasion, the individual was asked if he was handicapped. He replied he was not, and that he is the General Manager. When challenged about why he was utilizing the facility he indicated that it is a "universal bathroom".

He also indicated that I should seek out staff to help me to a general restroom in the facility. When my wife objected, stating that he should not be using the only designated handicapped bathroom at the facility he insisted that it was a "universal bathroom" even though the sign indicates that it is a facility for handicapped persons . This "general manager" on duty on November 7th indicated that we should seek out his staff to help me use the general bathrooms. I have attempted this on a prior occasion and had to wait 10 or more minutes for a male staff member to be located.

This general manager was dismissive when told that we would have to locate an alternative facility and said that was our prerogative. He demonstrated no understanding of the needs of a blind patron.

I used to go to the LA Fitness in Yonkers, NY but I will never step foot in that gym again. First off, I went in to cancel my membership only to find out two months later that nothing was done about it. My card got charged for two months after I canceled. When I called up LA Fitness in Yonkers and told them what was going on, the manager Wilson told me that they had no record of me trying to cancel my membership and told me he couldn't do anything to refund those two months back to me. I began to get frustrated and I told him to just cancel my membership starting now.

He began to tell me that he couldn't do it over the phone and I had to go into LA Fitness and do it in person. I told him I already did that and obviously the staff he has working for him are not doing something right. I told him I don't have time to come in again and have them bullshit me about staying a member. He told me the only other option I had if I didn't want to do it in person was mail a cancellation form in. I told him no I am not going to do that either because this is their fault and they have to fix it for me over the phone.

After telling a billing representative that I'm going on vacation, she informed me that I wouldn't be getting more phone calls in regards to my billing problem. I told her I will resolve it when I return from vacation. Low and behold, on the day after my vacation began, I received a very annoying call and an email on top of it. Better Business Bureau here I come!

Pool and hot tub not monitored for proper swim wear. Folks are using athletic clothes with their underwear clearly visible under their clothes! The hot tub is also very dirty and often has floating debris in it. I have tried to complain to the club staff, how can I escalate this to management?

The facility in East Norriton PA is filthy. I took a membership two years ago in January to use the facilities in the early morning before I started my busy day as an accountant. Every morning when I was done working out I would shower before leaving. Every morning the showers were filthy, hair everywhere, empty containers etc. I asked when they were cleaned at the front desk, whom was listening to his jams, and he said the maid is here now. He pointed her out she was the one showering next to me. This repeated on a weekly basis, I do not want to use your filthy showers any longer and it is sad that you have several complaint links specifically for LA Fitness.

I just restarted my membership because I liked to way the facilities are usually clean and plenty equipment but I used the L A Fitness on 51st Ave. and Baseline in Phoenix, Arizona. I was there on May 22, 2016. The equipment was very dirt. It's very important to me to have clean areas to workout. I don't like to complain but I do pay for the use.

I have been a member now for about 2 years and I am happy over all the big problem is that when the vinyl on the machines tear they don't get replace for months and months. I have personally complaint to the management for the last 2 months and they don't get repair. Especially the hammer strength MTS biceps curl it is completely torn and all the white lining is expose collecting germs and sweat. I know this is a health issue and the health department in Houston would give a citation for a violation like this. This is not the only machine also the leg curl is torn and a couple more that are in the process of tearing. This is the health club at Silber and I-10 in Houston, TX.

I haven't had any real problems with LA fitness until a couple weeks ago. I go to the Florence, Ky. gym. I am 65 years old and have a free pass thanks to United Healthcare. I was taking a class and after it was over a girl came up to me and asked me to "Please put your shirt on." I was stunned. I had on a sports bra. I did have a cover up for it, but when I get hot I take the cover off. I asked her why?? She said, "As a courtesy to other members." I told her that I never heard of a rule like that. She said, "Oh yes, that's always been a rule."

I went to the manager and she checked the rules and there was no such rule on there. She told me to wear whatever made me comfortable. Later, I was able to figure out that it was the head of personal training who had approached me. I went to her and told her what the manager had said, She said, "Well, I wouldn't have mentioned it if one person had approached me, but several class members complained." There is a small clicky group of women in that particular class and I went up to them and asked if they had complained. One woman admitted it. She said she was very uncomfortable with it. I told her that it wasn't a rule and she said, but it was very inappropriate.

I was stunned by all this. I feel that the trainer should not have approached me about that. Is it a rule or not? I am 65 years old and I was not wearing anything outlandish or skimpy....just a sports bra.

I attend LA fitness Lakeland TN. On last Monday night the AC was not working appropriately during a workout class. After 30 mins into the class, I went and approached an employee to complain about the AC. The associate stated, "Oh" after looking at the thermostat. He proceeded to tell me he decreased the temp by 2 degrees. Needless to say after class, everyone was ringing wet. I attended class on Tuesday where about 50 people attended and once again the AC was not working. This evening the heat was worse than the night before. The doors were propped open by a student with a weight to allow air to circulate. People even left the class early as a result of the heat.

I attended class again on Wednesday evening enduring the same issues. I in fact, had to walk out to cool down due to the excess heat. I chose not to attend class Thursday evening as it appeared hot again. Now it has been brought to my attention that the Zumba instructor was relieved from his duty because of his request to cancel class due to the AC issue and his concern for potential heat exhaustion to his student and his well-being. I am disappointed that the best Zumba instructor in Memphis, TN was relieved from teaching classes because of honest concern to his students. I assume you are not aware that people have joined your gym just to attend his classes! His classes are busting at the seams.

Edgar Gipanago deserves an apology and should be reinstated as a Zumba instructor. I have worked in the medical profession for over 30 years, and LA fitness is just lucky that no one dropped dead from heat exhaustion. He is the reason I joined and the reason that I will cancel my membership if he is not reinstated. I believe there will many more to follow as he has a great following of people. LA fitness's loss of the best zumba instructor and current members.

I am a member Barcode F22724206 at your gym in New York I mainly attend the one in the Bronx on 1776 Eastchester Road. I a former member of NY sport club and customer service means a lot to me. Grant it the staff along with the manger have been wonderful except for a staff that lack courtesy when you approach the front desk. I never said anything because the other staff is usually courtesy, welcoming, helpful, and polite. On March 30th Stephen Dimarco the staff in question clocked me in no hello good afternoon, no smile as usually just cold.

He stated that my bill was pass due and need to be taken care of this was done in front of my guest and other members of the club and I found it to be not only embarrassing but very unprofessional standards for a front desk personal. I checked him on his behavior and he seem as a matter of fact. I would like to add the day before I came in and spoke to the manger on duty told her that I had some fraud charges on my chase account and had to wait for a new card and that she could take my guest card until I receive my card by Friday, she told me it was not necessary. It's not what Mr. Dimarco did is how he did it and his that fact that he seem not to care. I thank you in advance for hearing me out.

Was told to cancel membership then would sign up family for $149 and then 49 a month canceled now not honoring what I was told would have kept my old package.

I can't believe Shawn is back @ LA Fitness in Greenbelt. He is rude, cannot make eye contact when you are speaking to him and is disrespectful to senior citizens. He is great when trying to make out with young girls. I thought he was gone to another facility. I have to think twice about continuing my association with LA Fitness!

Well I have two things. First I have been with LA fitness since Aug 2014-current. I pay faithfully every month sometimes not even using the facility. (my problem not yours). my thing is when I log onto website cause I want to start back working out the fees are lower than mine. Also, my fee does not even include the Kiddy Care which is mainly the reason why I cant get to a facility cause I have nobody to watch kids. Now does that sound fair?

Location; Hunters Creek, 12700 South Orange Blossom Trail Orlando Florida. There is no supervision on the floor, customers will be talking on their cell phones and will be on the equipment but not using it, while they're being disruptive and sometimes too loud. There is no Internet service anymore in this facility, we are not sure why and most of the machines are broken or out of order. I've been a member for a long time, but it's very frustrating when there is no order or respect for the policies in place. Thank you for understanding.

I am a member of LA Fitness in Naples Florida off of Golden Gate. It has been well over 6 months with the air conditioner not working. I keep getting the run around saying they are going to get it fixed within 1 or 2 weeks. It has not been fixed and was told last week that it might be as long as 2 more months before it does. They have large old fans that they are renting. Which does very little. I pay my dues like everyone else and I feel this completely unacceptable. If LA fitness does not want to replace the air conditioner, then it should not be open to the public. The temperature is well over 80 degrees in the club. It should not be any warmer 74 degrees. Something has to be done immediately.

I first signed up to LA fitness (London Wall) in October last year, I went into the Gym to enquire about joining and hopefully get a free trial. What I then experienced was the most pressured sale that I have ever experienced. The staff member clearly worked on commission as to say that he embellished the truth would be an understatement, telling me about it being pretty empty in the mornings or that the classes were easy to attend (despite never being able to attend a yoga class due to it being full every time I looked throughout my five months their), also when I mentioned that I would want to attend all week he didn't think to mention that the London Wall gym is shut on the weekends.

But then their was the actual lies telling me about having a LA fitness in Canary Warf and more importantly that I was getting a student discount and/or company discount. He pretty much bullied me the into signing the 6 months contract right their on the spot. If nothing else this experience has taught me about never trusting anyone in sales ever.

As a member it took a weeks to get a card as every time I asked "they were currently out but the delivery was to arrive tomorrow", also I had issues with their never being any free machines in the gym in the morning I would be understanding as it its a busy area before work starts however I had asked about this and again been lied to when joining. I later also found out that I was receiving no student or company discount (something I had asked about and been told I was getting). However at that point I was actually using the gym and so just let thing slide, knowing at the end of the six months I would probably swap to the fitness first as I had had such a terrible experience so far.

However the cracking point was when I was having a lot of personal issues both with my health and at work and this lead me to switch to the canary Warf office. To then find that you don't have a Canary Warf gym and once again the man had lied. By which time I had had enough and cancelled my membership. I was under the impression that I had finished the 6 months contract, however it turns out their was one more month in the contract. However I then get a phone call (with a very nice women) who explains that its been passed onto a debt collector who has boosted up the charges. As I explained to her I do have rights under the miss-sale of your services and she is looking into it her-self.

All in all I have had a terrible experience with your company (which I might add is the most expensive gym I've ever been too), I've been lied to and had poor service and am now at a new gym (this one actually in Canary Warf) which is making me realise how bad LA fitness treated me.

I would like to come to a sensible understanding with the company about settling the difference of the contract, however I do want you to acknowledge that you cannot sell memberships under false pretences and treat your customers so poorly. I can say that I have actually told other staff member at London wall about this when they were joining gyms which did affect their choices.

Naples Florida gym at Vanderbilt and 41 is dirty and i mean dirty from front door to back in showers, pool, dressing rooms. Carpet is old, dirty, torn, new is needed. They don't even have a vacuum cleaner. no one is cleaning except one poor little girl. It is gross. Everything in back, dressing room, showers, floors need Clorox and power hosed down. This needs to be done every couple of weeks!
