I called Wells Fargo ref a cd that would expire while I was out of town for two weeks. I was told that nothing could be done until the maturity date. I was in Alaska and called after the maturity date and made my request for cd renewal but was connected to another banker to verify my identity. One of her questions was to quote the license numbers on our three vehicles. I failed this test. 
Upon return I went immediately to the branch in Rockport to renew the cd. I was told that it had been renewed for six months at 2%.  I found this unacceptable. Wells Fargo solution was to cancel the cd but the penalty to cancel was $4600. With no other options I did cancel paying this huge hickey and moved the cd to another institution. This doesn’t seem to be good customer service. My other checking accounts are at Wells as they have been for thirty years but I don’t feel comfortable there anymore. Is there a solution to my problem ?
