My complaint has to do with a new policy on the CVS drug store chain

My complaint has to do with a new policy on the CVS drug store chain. They now do not give change consisting of any pennies. If a bill costs $29.99 and you give them $30.00, they refuse to give you back the penny difference. However, I recently had a bill for 2 pharmacy items, costing $4.04. They required that I pay all of it. I gave them $4.00 and stated to the clerk that they had told me they do not do pennies. The clerk insisted that I give them the full amount. Another customer stopped this interchange by putting in the pennies for me. However, the issue, as far as I am concerned, remains unresolved. As the saying goes...."What's good for the goose is also good for the gander." It should not be a one way situation....If CVS does not want to give a customer correct change in the form of pennies, then it should not require that same customer to pay for any item which requires pennies. Please respond with a rationale for this new policy. Anna Griswold
