I booked a hotel, Vayor Hotel, Melaque, Mexico Jan.30-Feb.13, 2025 confirmation # 7281002 2017012(Expedia.ca). The confirmation was sent to me with all the information including that I was to pay at property. That was fine but then my credit card was charged $892.16can on April 27 saying it was directly from the Vayor Hotel. I got in touch with Expedia Customer Service and they said they would find out whats going on. They got back to me saying they tried several times to contact the hotel but couldn't reach them. They also said I should contact them myself, said they couldn't do anything else, wont do refunds etc. I asked them how the hotel got my card number in order to charge me when only Expedia had that information...no answer to that question. I have tried calling the hotel..no one answers. I am more than a little frustrated. The booking confirmation for the hotel is 7061175. If the charge on my card is legit, that's fine and I just wanted the hotel to confirm in writing that the amount is being put toward the final bill when I am there. I am getting no help with dealing with this issue. If nothing is done to find out more information about this, I will contact my credit card company, tell them this is an unauthorized charge and they will reverse it and take things into their own hands....legally. I will then cancel the whole thing with Expedia and close my account. Depending on what my credit card company finds out, I will make a decision to file a complaint against Expedia and the hotel.
