I sent my wedding set in for a platinum prong repair and a simple soldier of the inside of the bands to keep them from separating/unlocking. When I returned to pick my rings up, the setting was turned from a Kite setting to a Princess setting and my wedding band, that had specific instructions on how it was to go onto the ring (it would only fit snug on one side of the ring in a puzzle piece type of fit) that the stores employee had written and also provided a picture, was on the wrong side of the engagement ring and because it didn’t sit flush in the bottom they had a glob of gold soldier on the outside bottom bands and a gap on one side off the band where they are supposed to sit flush against one another. I told the CSR that my setting was removed and that the band was attached incorrectly, so they “rushed” it back to the “jeweler” to have them turn the setting back into the original Kit setting and put the wedding band on the correct side of the engagement band. When I received another notification that my rings were back, I found that they had turned the setting into the Kite, but the diamond sat lopsided as they did not put it back into the original position, they lowered my center diamond gallery and attached it to the sides and altered my engagement ring and made it one with my wedding band! They told me my diamond would not fit centered because it was not true square, in which I told them If they would turn it back to match the inclusions in the original position, it would match as my ENTIRE ring was custom and unique, like a puzzle. They have pictures of when it was originally sent off, they know it sits centered, but wanted to argue that there was nothing they could do. There was nothing they could do to fix their error with making my set one ring and I was becoming disgusted and upset! They offered to fix the setting and turn it to match, but they couldn’t prove it had been lowered and if I could find pictures they could go by that would be great. So, once again I agree to letting them “fix” my rings and comp the entire order as my rings were ruined! Did I mention we are rural and live 68 miles from where they could be repaired? So, today I had to travel to that city for other business. I stop in at Kay Jewelers as I had not heard anything from them. They said my rings had been in store since the 13th of November, today is the 17th. The Kite setting is back in its original form and sits correctly, but the gallery is worse than it was. I will attach pictures, as the gallery was perfect, just not setting correct on the ring. All they had to do was repair a prong with platinum and do a simple soldier inside my rings. Even after they messed up that, all they had to do was remove the gallery that was set incorrectly and turn it. Instead, they continued to ruin my beautifully unique puzzle like wedding set! This fiasco began the last week of August and here it is November. If you would like picture/s of how it looks on my hand compared to before I can show those as well, but it would only let me upload 5.
