Miracle Ear phone calls – Beginning 7-18-25 7-18 - I had received a "Birthday Gift" from Miracle ear for a "FREE Hearing Evaluation & $50 Amazon* Card." and had an appointment w/Kim at Columbia MO office – Had my hearing checked. Kim said I didn’t have “enough” hearing loss to continue to hearing aids at this time, but made an appointment for next year to make sure the loss hadn’t progressed. And “unfortunately” I didn’t qualify for the $50 Amazon gift card. (*Read the small print on the “Birthday Gift For You” sent to me without my solicitation). 7-21 – Called Miracle Ear, talked with Jonathan. Was transferred to Kim – Told her I’d read the fine print myself, and it said I would qualify if I had hearing loss. Did not say “enough hearing loss to get hearing aids”. (I DID have some hearing loss, but did not need hearing aids yet...and remember, Kim made an appointment for a year from then in order to re-check to make sure it hadn’t progressed.) She said she’d call in about the gift card. I did not realize at the time that I was talking with the same Kim who had done my test in Columbia.) 7/23 – Called Miracle Ear – Kayla – Again transferred...this time to Erin (in Columbia, altho I didn’t realize it at the time), and told her what had happened. Erin told me she would submit a request for the card. 8-1 – Did not hear back, so called Miracle Ear (not local number). Dalesa transferred me to Columbia, where I’d gone for the appointment. At this point I realized I was talking to Erin, the receptionist in Columbia. (I should have realized that by now, but when I called Miracle Ear, I used the number online, and assumed I was talking to someone at the headquarters, not being transferred back again to the office where I’d had my appointment.) I was told the gift card had been sent out on July 24th, but I if I didn’t receive it, to let them know “after 30 days”, and they’d request it again. I never received it. 8-7 – Started wondering why if mailed on July 24th that I would not have received it by August 8, and why it would have to be resubmitted after 30 days. (Does not make sense!) I called Erin and talked with Kim. I was told they’d sent a $25 Visa card instead. I told her that was not what the "birthday gift" said. She said she’d check into it. I’ve never received that card, either. 8-21 – By now, I realized I’d been lied to TWICE. I called main number, and requested to talk to someone there, not be transferred back to Columbia. Ashley answered, transferred me to Customer Service. Only received recorded message to leave a message, so I did. No return call was ever made to me. 8-25 – Called Customer Care number – Nicole. She transferred me to Simone. Simone told me to call back if I hadn’t heard from Miracle within 3-4 days. Gave me a case number - #73346. 9-3 – Still haven’t heard back nor received any gift card. Called main office. Kelly transferred me to Cher. Cher said Simone was the one in charge of my case, and was out of the office. She was leaving a message for her to call me tomorrow. 9-4 – Simone called this morning. She said the case is still open. If I don’t hear from them within 39 days, to call them. (39 more days? Seriously?) This has been going on since July, and I told her I SHOULD be happy to know it’s still active, but since I have been lied to twice (“your card has been sent…”), that I think this is another “just wait” tactic, and I’m just being put off and hoping I’ll give up or forget it. (I won’t!) This is a matter of principle now. The way this has all happened is unacceptable, and I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only person this has happened to. I believe this has come from the top, so unless I hear from YOU within 2 weeks...by September 18, I’m going to expose Miracle Ear. (It shouldn’t take more than a few days to send a gift card and apology, even by snail mail.) I will report you to Better Business Bureau, post my interactions with Miracle Ear on facebook, and spread it by word of mouth as much as I can here locally, which is too bad, because I believe the local people are merely following the Miracle Ear guidelines. I can’t express how much this tells me about the integrity of Miracle Ear. Janet Mountjoy 9003 N. Route B Columbia, MO 65202
