DO NOT STAY HERE! Unless you are young, single and have no luggage and don't mind the equivalent of camping behind a door. Would give less than 1 star if we could. This place should be shut down. The elevator should not be accessible to use. It will not function without several minutes of the door attempting to close but failing. When going to the first floor it hits the bottom very hard. When you press the button to call for the elevator it might not come till you hit the button again. They have stairs but they are emergency use only. The place is dirty and stinks of urine. The shower is a complete joke. They have no closet or a place for clothes to hang. That is unless you bring your own hangers. The beds are almost the worst motel bed I have ever experienced. Dropped something on the floor in the room and it was obvious that they have not even run something as simple as a Swiffer under the beds in at least 6 months or more. The power outlets 2 are so worn out good luck keeping anything plugged in. This includes the one that has the microwave and refrigerator supposedly plugged into it. I do not know the legal state of weed here in S.C. however some of the front staff appeared to be under the influence of something. Due to their difficulty of making change for two $5. I mean counting out ten ones. This place should be shut down in at least sections and not remodeled but just repaired to safe and functional levels and severely cleaned. My wife told me she saw roaches in the bathroom. Our room was absolutely quiet is the ONLY plus. We had paid for two nights but would not stay the second if it was free or they paid us. "Cheap motels" does not mean "dirty", "non-functional", "unusable" and very possibly "unsafe" or even "dangerous". As far as the elevator goes. Nearly impossible to get in and out of due to double traffic light and amount of traffic.
