I reserved and consequently picked up a vehicle from Enterprise Rent-A Car located on 3 W Duval St, Jacksonville, FL 32202 on February 9. 2026 via my car insurance company GEICO. This was a vehicle rental associated with an insurance claim. Branch Agent/Rental Manager HERARSON DesMANGLES assisted me. The class of vehicle reserved was an intermediate car. I was informed by Agent DesMangles at the time of acquisition that the class of vehicle I had reserved was not available, so I would be given a different vehicle. When I asked about the cost of the new vehicle, Agent DesMangles assured me that the cost would be the same as the reserved vehicle because it was outside of my control. I was charged $119.92 at the end of the rental agreement because Agent DesMangles did not provide me with the stated intermediate car rate. This appears to be blatant deception by Agent DesMangles. I returned to the Rent-A-Car location after reviewing my credit card statement to inquire about the charges. He admitted that he had in fact informed me that the rate would remain the same. He then stated that when he initially looked at the insurance company's contract, he saw intermediate and assumed that it was an intermediate car, however, when he fully opened the contract, he said that the contract did not specify the car, so he took it upon himself to charge me the higher rate. I have attached a copy of the reservation from the insurance company showing the class of car reserved, This was a very unpleasant experience in many ways. Your agent was deceptive beyond belief. Due to this experience, I now have a profound distrust of the agents at Enterprise Rent-A Car. I will ensure that I receive written promises and/or statements going forward!
