I recently utilized the AirBnB application while browsing homes, and seeking permanent residence for a job relocation. The application provided me with a quaint home jn a somewhat rough and urban area. However, I looked past all of this and still tried to put forth the effort to settle down and enjoy the Air BnB residence. Unfortunately, the residence would turnout to have many significant flaws, and these flaws make it non-compliant with its ad on Air BnB. First, the major flaw was that the kitchen oven was broken AND the kitchen was shared by all guests, which included six people. Second, the residence did not contain internet and cable, which I approached the host about twice. The first time I thought that the service had experienced an outage. The second time I inquires about it, and the host brushed me off briskly. The third major flaw was that the hosts staff had rude manners. They did not approach me together, but instead individually and they both did not provide me with consistent courteous service. In fact, one of the staff did not return to the residence for three weeks during my stay. It was like once they received my first two payments, they ceased providing service and kindness. During the end of my stay, I decided to not make the final payment of $895 and plan to relocate immediately. However, the customer service made this very difficult and irritating. My initial contact with them was pleasant and I advised them about the complaints, and they stated I needed to submit a ticket for a partial refund. This ticket would include the images of the complaint and an explanation. I decided to hold of on this until I relocated, and in the interim I was actively searching for new residence. Unfortunately, the AirBnB times you from the minute the due date is missed until you leave. I thought about how the staff had been absent and decided to plan my relocation calmly, instead of per the rushed AirBnB non-payment policy. This was due to the fact that they did not provide service, and were very lethargic in managing their operations. On the day that I found a new residence, I contacted Air BnB and inquired about my complaint. They stated that per my complaints I would be eligible for a refund of $767.00. But that was contigent on me leaving immediately. I advised them that I was packing, and that I'd be leaving soon. I left two days after that phone call as the hosts did not mind, and they passively approached me and asked me to let them prepare the room for their next guest. This was convenient to my schedule, and I was eventually able to relocate and find a suitable new accommodation. However, if it was up to AirBnB this wouldn't have happened. Air BnB has a strict non-payment policy, and it is designed to solely support the AirBnB location that is a part of their network of hotels. It does provide application users with a vast network to travel around and obtain occupancy with. However, it is clear to me that if you obtain residence at a poor location then have to relocate they will do everything they can to wrestle you away from a refund. And this is quite strange considering that Air BnB has a gross revenue of at least a million dollars. What would it cost them to refund me for a room that did not provide cable and internet service, which is a basic of any hotel establishment? At the end of the day this residence and Air BnB are splitting profits they receive from Travellers. In my opinion, Air BnB needs to give up their portion and stop using offshore call centers to meander and break consumers spirits. This company is highly corrupt and greedy, unless you're fifty rich.
