Back in April, my daughter and son-in-law ordered battens for a renovation of their home. They worked with DG Construction on this project. They were looking for 2 1/2" battens for the LP Siding they were putting on their home. After assurance from Lowe's (I believe the employee is Chris) that the actual width was 2 1/2", the order ($2,027.31) was placed at Lowe's - Store 1524. Upon delivery around April 17th, it was readily apparent that the width of the battens was in fact only 2". A request was made immediately to have these battens picked up and a refund issued. Even after multiple subsequent requests to have these batons picked up, it was not until mid to late June (I believe it was the 21st) that Lowe's actually picked up the battens. The battens remained in the yard exactly where Lowe's initially dropped them off. We experienced a a wet spring.
Even though the battens were picked up in June, a partial credit was not issued until August 15th ($438.74). This results in a loss of $1,588.57 for my daughter and son-in-law. This should have been a routine return and refund. I discussed this with Dave Gregornik (DG Construction) multiple times. According to Dave, he has left multiple phone messages for Chris and has not gotten a reply. I am at a loss for how this whole transaction has been handled. I am preparing a similar complaint letter and intend on mailing it directly to Marvin Ellison.
