This is about the Dairy Queen in Leesburg VA, on Fort Evans Road. This Dairy Queen has a multitude of problems. I worked there and i have quite the list of things that have gone wrong. First off, no one wears gloves in the ice cream area and often touches your ice cream with their hands along with the toppings. When you lift up the soda catcher, the one that pushes all the excess water into a little drain, there is mold growing on the inside and despite the employees attempts to clean it, it always comes back worse than before. They use one rag for the entire front lobby which wipes everything. Including the insides/bottoms of trash cans. Then that same rag wipes the tables you eat off of. In the back, they use sponges that are replaced maybe once every 4-5 months. They are not just used for dishes though. Those sponges are used for EVERYTHING. They have also cleaned the trash canes with those. They pick up cups that have fallen on the floor and have used them and given them out to customers. At closing, they step on the tables with dirty shoes to turn off the open sign and the TVs. Then when they open they don’t wipe the tables off. In the kitchen dump sink, they plug the drain and fill it with ice water, chop up lettuce, and dip the lettuce in that sink to “wash” it. Gross. This is the same sink they wash dirty dishes in and also dump food down. The ice bucket sits on the floor when being filled. There have been non service dogs allowed in the building and management did nothing about it. Most condiments are filled from the top. They don’t change out the bottom ones. (i don’t even want to know how old some of those are). Razor blades have been left throughout the back and thrown around from blade changes in pocket knives. There is a huge disgusting bottle of hand lotion that is never closed or cleaned sitting above where they make cakes. There is also a tray of office supplies next to that lotion that is covered in a slimy grease. Employees from the kitchen count the tips with their gloves on and then proceeded to make more food with those same gloves after touching the money. Manager has climbed up on the fryer during hours and was stepping on the edge of where they cook your food (it was not wiped off after). There would be multiple occasions where the back fire exit was blocked by big heavy crates, impeding my ability to escape. This is all normal for them. This cannot continue. This needs change. I also have pictures of the razor blades, fire exit blocking’s, and the mold in the soda machine.
