I purchased a 2015 VW Passat for my son. In November, we began experiencing an issue with the car. It would start and run fine to a desired location but if leaving again with 15-45 minutes, the car would start and then die.
I replaced the battery ($130) thinking that was the issue. It was not. I then took it to an authorized VW dealer. They did a 60,000 mile tune-up ($360) and said there was not an issue with the vehicle. The problem continued.
I called the same dealership and they stated that I needed to have the car towed in the next time the problem occurred so they could could run the diagnostic while the problem was occurring. They stressed the importance of not starting the vehicle.
