To Whom It May Concern, Let me begin by saying that I have been a lifelong user of Colgate products. In particular, your Colgate Total 12 toothpaste I have used for years with great satisfaction. Until now. Over the past few months, I’ve been noticing more and more air bubbles in each toothpaste tube. Every time I use the toothpaste, a large air bubble comes out with each portion. I had never seen this happen before until this year. After experiencing the same effect after going through three more tubes of Colgate Total 12 toothpaste, I became convinced that something was wrong. Feeling sure that each tube of Colgate Total 12 wasn’t measuring up to the advertised volume of 200 grams per tube, I decided to investigate my concerns further. Here are the results of my investigation of the Colgate Total 12 product: 1/ The advertised volume of toothpaste in each tube is 200 grams. 2/ A completely depleted tube weighs exactly 28.3 grams. (Take note, I went to great effort to make certain this tube was completely empty before I tested its weight.) 3/ A new and unopened tube weighs exactly 212 grams. 4/ A simple calculation subtracting the 28.3 gram, empty tube weight from the 212 gram, filled tube weight shows the total weight of the toothpaste inside the tube is 183.7 grams. 5/ I conducted the same experiment with another two new tubes of Colgate Total 12 toothpaste and came up with the same result. So, here is the conclusion of my investigation: 16.3 grams of toothpaste is missing from new tubes of Colgate Total 12 toothpaste. This explains why there are so many air bubbles in each tube. Below, I will attach four pictures showing the weight of the new tube, the depleted tube, the boxed new tube, and the box only to further prove the results of my findings. PICTURE # 1: DEPLETED TUBE WEIGHT, BATCH # 3294TH11I1 PICTURE # 2: NEW TUBE WEIGHT. PICTURE # 3: NEW TUBE IN BOX WEIGHT. PICTURE # 4: BOX ONLY WEIGHT. In conclusion. It is very clear that new Colgate Total 12 tubes do not contain the advertised amount of toothpaste. I wanted to reach out to you and see if we can come to a settlement. I am open to settlement suggestions from Colgate before I alert the appropriate consumer protection agency here in New Zealand. Also, I am a dual citizen of both the United States and New Zealand. It would be very simple for me to reach out to family and friends in the United States and have them repeat my tests on your products there, and then seek the appropriate legal advice. At this stage I don’t want to have to do that. I eagerly await your reply and hope we can come to a satisfactory agreement.
