Good Evening,
You have lost a valued customer!!! I placed an order for curbside pick up at approximately 2:30 p.m. for the Aldi at Kensington Drive in Appleton WI to be picked up between 5-6 p.m. At 2:38 p.m., a text was sent stating that there is a delay because there were no shoppers. I looked on line for over half an hour on your site to cancel the order, to no avail. I called customer service by 3:30 p.m., mind you the order was NOT in progress. Your service member hemmed and hawed about cancelling the order and placed me on hold. The call dropped so I promptly called back, mind you I was on hold for over 20 minutes by that time. I called again, the order was still NOT in progress. I was quite upset by this time. Your representative would not let me speak and just wanted to give me the company spiel and some malarchy about she couldn't cancel the order. I demanded a supervisor, once again, I was placed on a very long hold. While on hold, I put a stop payment on the order which cost me $20!!!! Now, after 4:00, I finally received a text that they were shopping. Now, according to everything I could find, I could make changes. I informed the shopped to cancel the order now. A test was promptly sent that I had to do it online REALLY!!! I told them NO you cancel it as I have wasted over an hour trying to cancel the damned order. At 5:30, I receive a call informing me that indeed, the order was cancelled and that it would take over 10 days to get my money back!!!! I again told her NO, I put a stop payment on already. She again just wanted to finish the company spiel, probably all written down on index cards. She would not let me get a word in edgewise. I told her to stop and be quiet and to let me speak. Her response was "Excuse me". I was done with any speck of patience. I demanded a supervisor ( this was the 2nd time) and was told that there were none available. First off, how do you train your customer service people??? I have been in customer service for over 40 years, and I would have been fired with a response like that. You ALWAYS quit speaking and listen to the customer. Most of the time with that process, the responses de-escalate. With her response, I did no such thing as de-escalate. You can't tell me that there are no supervisors available in your call center. Piss poor practice if this is the case and shame on you. I had been an Aldi customer for well over 20 years, but not any more. You have lost a customer with a voice who will hop on social media and tell the world how your company, per you code of conduct is "Responsibility" and I quote from you
"Our Core Purpose
We provide value and quality to our customers by being fair and efficient in all we do.
Our Core Values
Our business approach is based on our three core values which are consistency, simplicity and responsibility. "
How can you not provide an easy way to cancel an order on your website in 2024??? Easy as sin to order, but cancellation is hell and I see no excuse for the behavior I experienced.
I am demanding the $20.00 for stop payment. This was the only recourse your company provided me to end this fiasco. I will not wait 10 days for this either. It will be provided in an extremely timely manner.
As a company, I would certainly look into your training practices as they are pretty subpar.
I want an answer by Tuesday, June 18, 2024. I will even provide you my phone number 540-270-6917.
