Ruth's Chris Steak House is a chain of steakhouses with more than 100 locations throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. After being acquired by Ruth's Hospitality Group in 2008, Mitchell's Fish Market underwent a rebranding and became part of Ruth's Hospitality Group. Ruth's Hospitality Group is headquartered in Winter Park, Florida. A New Orleans entrepreneur named Chris Matulich founded Chris Steak House on February 27, 1927. Near the Fair Grounds Race Course, it sat 60 people, had no parking lot, and was located at 1100 North Broad Street. The business was sold six times during Matulich's 38-year management period, each time failing, allowing him to buy the restaurant back cheaply from the new owners.
