On Sat., the 20th of Jan., year 2024... I received my new health card for 2024. It is loaded with a food benefit available that I can use for food purchases at stores near to me such as Walmart. It is loaded for $70.00 each month. I am new with the health company and have never used my health care card to purchase food, so I needed to know the procedure at the Walmart stores and if it worked ok without any problems, and if they accepted it etc., I had questions about it so I knew what was ahead of me when I go to the Walmart store. We are close to Walmart stores in Arvada, Co. and the store I called is on 72nd and Sheridan. I did connect with someone there, and I asked her about the food benefit card I have for 2024. She told me they are having lots of problems with their system in their store recognizing my type of card, it is not working for the people now and she said they are trying to get that corrected. Good thing I didn't go to the store and put food items into the buggy then go to the check out line to not have my card work, spend all that time picking out food, and have a buggy full, then that happens, card not recognized!! Also embarrassing. I was assured by my health care company that there was no problem if I used my food benefit card that the benefit for food loaded onto it worked. Good thing I called both Walmart and my health care card company to check the procedure of using it!!!!!So, I knew that Walmart system in their store did not recognize my type of card, so I thought I would call another store to check if they were having problems. NO ANSWER AT ANY OF THE WALMARTS I CALLED, THE NUMBERS WERE ALL CORRECT, I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THEY ALL WERE RIGHT. I got a computer voice giving me different options to choose from, no answers from any of the options I chose. I tried about 5 different stores, no answers from any of them. Finally I didn't want to bother the pharmacy but I did choose their option thinking they would answer since it is important because of people needing medicine. YES THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES IN FIVE STORES DIFFERENT OPTIONS TO CHOOSE WHAT DEPT I NEEDED, the pharmacy told me she would transfer me to customer service...it rang and rang, no answer, I gave up. This is very bad customer service and I saw in the complaint section for Walmart, there are so many complaints that Walmart does not have anyone to answer phones. They have them so busy with other work in the store that the phones just are not answered. BAD, BAD SERVICE. I worked for Walmart two years after I worked at the phone company for 26 years... I worked in the fitting room, answering phones and also was used in other departments, we always had the phones answered. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE????????
