I bought an inexpensive vacuum cleaner for a small apartment. The box was in perfect condition. When I unboxed the vac it had a broken latch for the dirt cup. I contacted Hoover customer service and used the call me back option. It took 3 1/2 hours to call back. I wanted the to replace the broken part, Seems pretty simple, The Customer service rep wanted me to send pictures and versions of the broken parts with a detailed explanation. they also required the proof of purchase. After all this was received at Hoover the would be in contact with me after 3 or 4 days and let me know how they were going to proceed.All of this red tape for a broken latch that was packed in the box at the manufacturer. I returned the vac to the point of purchase. I will never try to buy a Hoover again. The vac is also cheaply made all round.
