I Mr. Norberto Rivera I am writing on behalf of my experience with the company, My family & I planned a beautiful vacation by purchasing our flight, hotel, car, rental package through Expedia, which was paid in full,, however, upon arriving to San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 19, 2024, around 12:30 noon time I left the family in the airport while I went to go and pick up the car rental they wouldn’t accept my car insurance stating that they do not accept out of state insurance therefore I had no other choice but to accept. Upon putting our luggage in the trunk of the car, we found a large spider which went underneath the seats. We couldn’t find and tried to dispose of the spider, at this point no one in the family wanted to sit in the car. I tried calling budget to see if they could bring us another car at the airport and apparently they wouldn’t honored that service. My family was so tired of waiting at the airport that they took a taxi & charged $30.00 to the San Juan Hotel, I Had no other choice but to drive back to Budget. I was given a second car, which was fine. However, every time we traveled in this car, it felt like it was going to break down. All we could hear is this very loud tumble while driving,at this point we didn’t want to travel far to see family members, because we were afraid that the car will break down on the road, so we called the budget car service again brought back the second car and was given a third which took hours of our time There was absolutely no problem with the third car. Thank God. We returned the car on March 22, 2024 around 3 PM with a full tank of gas. The reason for this letter while going over my bank statement, I realize that $915.98 was withdrawn from our account on March 25, 2024 Carolina PR Which was confusing because it did not say that it came from budget. I went to my bank and they also could not determine what company withdraw this large amount $915.98. So I had to cancel. my visa card and put in a claim. thinking that a fraud had taken place being that Budget Rental Name did not appear on my statement.
I decided to call budget Customer service To explain what had aspire,
since I had no way to determine if it was indeed budget, who withdrew this amount. I could not understand why i was charge such a large amount wen the car has been paid for in advance.
While investigating it appeared that we were overcharged $915.98
Whoever handle the paperwork had to have known that the car rental had already been paid and that I had to return back to the airport twice to return issues with two car, this was a huge amount for a mistake for whoever was handling this account in this overcharged. Our experience with this car rental agency was very frustrating from beginning to end we spent most of our time going back-and-forth to budget car rental. We shouldn’t have even had Experience this loss of time, We were only there for four days and felt that we wasted time having to go back-and-forth with the car and to be so disappointed and frustrated with the fact that $915.98 plus overcharge fee was taken from my bank account and now i have to wait for it to clear,who knows how long this matter will take.
