I made a reservation for the Dawsonville, GA Super8 through Hotels.com. It was short notice and I was on the road with 3 kids. I paid $143 and they wanted another $100 deposit when i got there. It was lowered to $50 if i gave cash. The kids and I unloaded the car and met with our friends to do some exploring and adventuring around the area. Around 8pm we returned to freshen up for dinner and upon walking into the lobby we were overwhelmed with the smell and smoke of marijuana and I had to return the children to the car to avoid exposure. This was in the front lobby and it was strong. I went to the room and gathered our belongings and returned to the front desk with the keys and told the clerk I was leaving and if I could get my deposit back. He checked the room and agreed to return the deposit and that is when i informed him of why I was leaving. No apologies or explanation or any intrest just shrugged his shoulders. I called on Monday to wyndahm to ask for a refund because I had to find other accommidations and they put me in touch with the hotel and the lady i emailed with was not willing to refund the money and said there was no record of me leaving the same day I checked in or a report. She denied any drug use on the property and offered me points instead. This was the most disgusting hotel i have ever been in and NOT KID FRIENDLY AT ALL. I feel my reason is legit for a refund BEING FOR THE SAFTEY OF MY KIDS and i am sure if she walked in the lobby with her kids at that time she wouldnt have let her kids be exposed either. I am really not one to complain and trust there were other things that were just gross about this place but I didnt stay, told them why and they could care less.
