This morning we went to the 7-Eleven on Cortez Road in Bradenton. The address is 8604 Cortez Road, it’s new. I had two small cups of coffee and went up to pay. The woman asked me if I wanted the donuts. I said well no I don’t think so and then she said they were free with the coffee. She absolutely 100% did not say they were free with a certain size of coffee. She just said they were free with the coffee. I paid and sat down, and my husband asked me how much coffee was. When I looked at my receipt, I said it’s $2.29 which he said was ridiculous for small. He went back and checked, and the sign said $1.89 for a small. When we finished, I went up and questioned the cashier, who was a different cashier. She didn’t understand it, so she went in the back to speak to the woman who checked me out, I assume anyway. When she came out, she told me it was because of the donuts. But, she said, you have to purchase a large coffee to get the free donuts. I said, but I didn’t have large coffees, I had small. She just went on to say well to get the free donuts you have to pay for a large. I said well if I wanted a large I would’ve gotten a large. I didn’t care about the donuts. I only got them because the woman said they were free with the coffee. She didn’t specify any size that I had to buy to get the donuts. I got absolutely nowhere with her, and I finally left. I know it’s not a tremendous amount of money, but it’s just the idea that the woman who checked me out, was deceptive and deceitful, and the woman I spoke to was just as bad because she did nothing to rectify it or admit that they were wrong. We are a very short distance from this place and would go there for coffee quite frequently, as we go three times a day, but we will never set foot in there again, because they screwed us over. She plain and simple lied to us.
